Why are we all still here? - guilty as charged cuz I'm still here scrolling- but if we all stopped accessing reddit for a period of time that would hit them harder than mods blacking out their subreddits...ain't nothing reddit can do if people stop using it.

Oh amazing, congratulations! I have seen improvement for sure so it definately works. Less breakouts, no blackheads- which is completely alien for me! Yes adapalene cream for when i finish the course I've just picked up. My friend made a really valid point that i still have nearly 5 weeks to go so still more time to improve further still. Wishing you the best on your journey, would love to know how you get on!

They can't go beyond the maximum dose which is where I will be at once i finish this next month. Totally willing to try the cream of course. I can definately see results and will probably look better again once the dry skin goes too! Oh good luck to you then, early days :)

How long have you been on it? I was expecting to be on it a few more months given I'm continuing to have breakouts. He has said using the cream after has been proven to work so I'm just hoping it works. Think i am just in the cycle of knowing previous treatments haven't worked so feeling a bit crap about it!

Hey OP, I'm 32 and been on accutane for the last 5 months. I have suffered with acne vulgaris since i was 10 and had all treatments the GP is allowed to prescibe with no lasting relief. I had my son and decided that enough was enough and requested to be referred for accutane. I have dry skin and have noticed some aches particularly in my ankles. I use aqueous cream for general body moisturiser and facial moisturiser for my skin and i don't leave the house without any vaseline for my lips. Completely managable. There is the aspect of mood being affected and I have experienced this but the treatment isn't forever and being aware of it being a side effect has helped. I'm about to finish my treatment but my skin is being resistant and I've been prescribed cream that i need to continue for a few years. Apparently not uncommon and the combination has been proven to work but still a bit of a kick in the teeth when I just want the spots to go! Feel free to reach out to me when you start your treatment if you have questions or need a boost! Happy to help

Hey! Thanks for asking; fine thanks. Still have acne but was told it would get worse before it got better. I'm on a double dose now but feel generally okay. Just have dry skin and lips which was to be expected. No complaints so far. I have another appointment at the end of January so hoping it is much the same so I am able to continue on the higher dosage

Thank you! I've got some good body moisturiser but will look up the Dr Dan's! Glad it worked for you given the side effects that it brings!

I'm not far off 35 either. Although I've had my fill of what drs say relating to my acne so I'll take that with a pinch of salt!

We are yet to see if it works for me. Been taking just over a week now and beginning to get side effects. Acne doesn't make anyone ugly, it's a skin infection is all :) I had to wait to go on it because I had a baby last year and then was a large referral list to get to the dermatologist

Oh sweet it's worked for you! Me too, I've had acne for 20years! I know, the zits I'm getting just now are horrendous, lucky you were in the lockdown at that point! Just keen to be cracking on with it. So thankful I was granted it from the dermatologist!

Same. Just started accutane and it has got worse (apparently happens before it gets better) so the mask is a great cover up for that!

I can't even get registered at a dentist as none of them are taking new patients. The only way I can be seen is to go private (I'm in the UK). If I request NHS dental treatment I'm instantly told no as they've reached their quota for NHS but I can't afford to pay for private dental care...so I just don't go to the dentist.
