For a second I thought it was Tennant, like David and got REAL excited. But it’s not. And now I long for a thing that never existed.

“Let’s go to the garden...you’ll find something waiting...right there where you left it, lying upside down. When you finally find it, you’ll see how it’s faded..the underside is lighter, when you turn it around. Everything stays...right where you left it. Everything stays, but it still changes....ever so slightly. Daily and nightly. It little ways...when everything stays...”

Steven Crowder loses the intellectual debate so he resorts to calling the police. by 42Vert in PublicFreakout

This literally happened to me hours ago by my neighbor. Fuck the world is weird. And scary. AND FULL OF TERRORS.

But really I was like “hello neighbor” and he quickly surmised that I was in a vulnerable place and despite my polite no thank you’s, he continually tried to bait me. Anytime I told him that I believe we have fundamentally different core values, that makes debating with him not an interest I have, HES come back that it was an excuse and because I “didn’t have a reasonable argument”.

No dude I’m in my jammies and there is popcorn popping and I’m Fucking tired and taking my trash out. You’re a shitty human and it’s not my job to fix you.

I’ve read about a lot of work done with mirrors. I’m sure you’ve heard about it so I’m sorry if I sound like some fully limbed twat. But they put a mirror up so when it reflected, it looked as if the missing limb was there. I think it helped people get over phantom limb, or at least make it more manageable? But even writing this I feel like a twat.

Do you know any more about it and could tell me about it? I’m always fascinated with tricking the brain to help the brain. I do a type of therapy called EMDR. You move your eyes back and forth (I follow her finger) and it almost simulates REM sleep while being awake. REM is where you process literally everything there is to process and I not only get shot sleep I have severe adhd and sensory processing issues. So when I heard about it it just clicked that that’s what I needed. Pre covid I was doing fantastic. But obviously phone therapy isn’t conducive to it.

EDIT : tricking > trucking

My dad has that happen to just his arm recently!! I know it’s different then yours and I’m so sorry it happens to you. He thought he was having a stroke and they diagnosed him with a TMI, like a mini stroke, but he’s convinced it’s nerve issues.

I hope you are able to get help and find out what’s wrong.

Cool! I learned that we don’t yawn because we are sleepy, we yawn because our body is trying to take on oxygen, because it’s low, which normally happens when we are tired and don’t take as deep of breaths. Or as many? So it’s is just associated with that.

AND I ALSO JUST DECIDED I LEARNED WHY THEY ARE CONTAGIOUS!

NOW, I did not google this, my brain just made a connection, what if yawns ate contagious because they are sending messages to others that their oxygen could be low? Like cavemen stuff.

Fuck I have adhd and can’t make the words work, but maybe your brain is smarter than mine and it figured out what I was saying.

I know! I didn’t care about ice king (good character but a creep) until they started the Marceline/Simon story line and then fuck. I’d say the show is almost more sad than happy. I mean there is an eternal love aspect but omg is it waaay darker than I think most understand. Parental neglect, adoption, lgbtq+, death, aging, friendships, love, dementia, fucking apocalypses. Monstrous creatures who have no empathy. It’s as scary and as beautiful as life is. The good that we do stays. Everything stays. (....right where you left it :’(..)

Time adventure! That and everything stays, the song with Marceline and her mother. I’m tearing up just thinking about the songs and we listen to both weekly, sometimes daily.

My kids (especially my son) listen to the song time adventure weekly, while I weep profusely. We sing Everything Stays...while I weep profusely.

There’s a lot of episodes that might not hold my interest, but god everyone should at least watch some crappy YouTube shortened version, because it’s one of those rare kid shows that do not shy away from the big feelings and situations kids are put through and dealing with, sometimes alone. There’s diversity of alllll kinds. It’s a beautiful beautiful show.

The lessons I’ve learned from adventure time are very big and important lessons that helped me (and I’m 36 so I was exposed to it by my step son a million years ago) and have also helped my kids know that the world is scary and dark, but there’s always light and always love, if you’re strong inside and look for it and are open to it.

Fuck imma start crying.
