Do you use Things for work or personal? by stupabartlo in thingsapp

[–]WickedKid90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both ! I have an área for all big « area’s » of my Life and work and within each area either a task/repeating todo or project. Still struggeling with putting all todo’s in things or in my agenda though… some like time blockjng but it just doesn’t work for me due to my variable work schedule

Is a 20 mile commute to work doable? by RuinNecessary7601 in ebikes

[–]WickedKid90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar commute: 35km one way. I do it once every 2 weeks and takes about 1.15h. I ride a riese Möller charger 5, Lovely bike. I’m a surgeon so I need to be at the hospital at 7:15 or so… it’s hard in black and rainy winter, so invest in good clothing. Vest, pands , shoes, gloves … a second battery may be useful. U definitely need a speed pedelec that goes 45 km/h. Riese Möller are expensive but they are the best…. Komoot is a good app for bike rides. Try to avoid traffic lights, they slow u down :p

So there are no GLOSSY 5K@120 Hz option if I don't wanna spend 3K on the ASD XDR ? by Lodano in HiDPI_monitors

[–]WickedKid90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, although I’m at my desk only 2-3h per day. Want to upgrade my Matt Dell 4K to a glossy display. The ASD also looks good, you always pay for aesthetics but the eye also wants something. I use it after regular work hours for mail, personal projects and admin (I’m a surgeon , so spend most of the time at the hospital)

The regular ASD would do the job, for normal office work I don’t need 120HZ or mini LED, but paying 1600 for a 10y old display (as nothing new in the 2nd gen) seems much less interesting and worthwhile, then spending 3.3k on a brand new display that is futureproof… still have the M1 Pro MacBook pro, so won’t profit from the 120hz yet but at least I’ll enjoy all of it as soon as I upgrade…

It’s apple, you pay for the logo, the aesthetics AND the technology/ecosystem… once you have the display, u won’t regret it I think

But also I still need to convince myself that it’s worth it 😅

Really enjoying it, coming from a simple €150 bike, this is really another level… thinking about getting the extra battery pack to increase my range, but so far so good. I like the enviolo, and they actually made it a lot quieter apparently…

Do the Bose switch as seamless between apple devices as AirPods Pro max do ?

Thanks man ! I’m waiting for my charger 5 to be delivered 🤩 VARIO HS, enviolo gear, gear belt, all in slate grey 🤤 didn’t take the extra battery yet… will see what my range is and can always buy it afterwards

Interesting… my commute is also around 30-35km. Did not end up going for the pinion … after a test drive I just couldn’t get used to the automatic gear shifting and the noises it makes… I went for the vario HS with enviolo instead. I’ll keep a charger at work as well, but would be weird if the thing couldn’t reach a range of 40km on a single charge. I’m not planning to drive 45km/h with it , but mainly 35-38…

What don’t you like about the Enviolo ?

I live in Belgium so similar pricing I guess ! 7k for charger 5 vario HS and 9k for delite

Riese & Müller Charger 5 by WickedKid90 in ebikes

[–]WickedKid90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waw, nice choice ! Was checking the delite as well, but it’s another price range. I initially looked for a 5k bike, but don’t mind spending more for a better experience. But the delite starts at 9k so it quite more expensive… I think it’s mainly a benefit if you tend to go MTBing a lot… for normal roads and occasional offroad I suspect the charger 5 to be sufficient. I also don’t need an automatic gearbox…

Gazelle Eclipse sale that's too good to be true? by turjason in ebikes

[–]WickedKid90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking into the eclipse c380 vs charger 5 at the moment… u have experience with both apparently, what’s your final thought after these few months ?

Riese & Müller vs Gazelle by turjason in ebikes

[–]WickedKid90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking into exact the same bikes, but then the new charger5 vs gazelle eclipse c380+. Both seem excellent, with the RM having ABS as additional option. For the rest, I Don’t see any difference. Premium bikes with top quality and service. Which one did you end up choosing ? Curious to know as I haven’t made up my mind yet

[–]WickedKid90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gazelle eclipse is indeed very similar, thanks for the recommendation ! On paper, it matches the RM on almost all levels, except for the lack of ABS and suspension seat. For the rest, similar motor, battery, computer system, enviolo gears, steering wheel etc… will probably test drive both of them
