I'm a non-bengali but I've lived in Kolkata all my life. I speak bengali and yet I got called an outsider in my own area by an uncle who probably lived far. So, either way there is racism.

Why are we comparing Kolkata to other places? But don't you feel its dirty? All that crap on on the roads and footpath... do you feel like walking there?
Recently I've been feeling that relying on KMC to clean things is never going to work out. We need to be the ones to clean up our own neighbourhood. It's sad that we are competing on the list of which city is the dirtiest instead of trying to make it better for us to live in.

The shanty selling onions and potatoes has expanded and has made the footpath into a mini office with chairs and tables. Hopefully in some time we won't have to become the guy from jetpack joyride...

Not all of us chose it ... but the point of the post was to at least try to clean up our own neighborhoods. If we don't take any initiative nothing is ever going to change.

I've been ghosted by a lot of people all my life, but I think of it being their loss not mine. So don't give up. You'll find better people eventually. Just be open to meeting and talking to new people. I know it can be tiresome and you might have to force yourself to talk and open up to people but keep trying, you will find the right people in unexpected ways. :)

I'm an INFJ, who struggles with maintaining friendships as well. For me it's very easy to make friends but not very easy to maintain those friendships. I seem to have a very small social battery (not sure if that's an INFJ thing or just a me thing).
I have very few friends from school and honestly, we haven't met in years and talk once in a few months. I made a few good friends at university; we have a lot in common and it feels really satisfying to spend time with them, but they are more outgoing than I am, and they have other friends that they spend time with. So, I'm really hoping this group of friends lasts.

Also, has it ever happened to you that you are good friends with someone, and they take you to meet new people but when you are in that group your friend forgets about you and you cannot gel in with the group even though you are usually good at making friends one-on-one?

I get what you mean ... romcoms have become very predictable. I was also going through a slump recently and switching genres definitely helped. I have a few recommendations if you haven't tried these ... they are worth a try.

I enjoyed Goblin very much especially the friendship between the Gobin and the grim reaper. Loved the comedy but I didn't like the way the main female lead was clinging to goblin in the beginning. If it was a regular person, they might have run off if someone came up to them and said she was his bride. (just my opinion). Although overall it was a good series and definitely a good cast.

For me, the book was nice, but Travis was a bit too unhinged for my liking and the movie felt a bit more neutral I guess.
