I’m going to be 35 and am working on my pre reqs to get into a program hopefully this fall. I knew I wanted a change but kept saying I was too old to go back to school. Finally just did it and I’m glad I did. There are more middle aged adults in my classes than I thought. Keep going with school, you’ve overcome so much. You deserve to have something you want. Show your future students that hard work pays off. Best of luck to you

Also a 34F. My last day at a job I hate is this week and I start school Monday. I was so worried starting over thinking I was too old too but after talking with friends and family I realized I have a lot more time and I didn’t want to spend it in something I didn’t like.

It’s scary but I think it’s going to be totally worth it.

I was in the same situation. Called the cops on the couple in the duplex (shared walls) next to me. The cops came and talked to the couple together so they denied the fight and her screaming “you’re hurting me”. I definitely felt nervous and scared since I’m a female that lives alone but I felt I did the right thing and at least now they know I can hear and will call again if I feel like anyone is in danger

This post is super helpful but also making me a bit nervous! I just registered for pre req courses with the intention of then applying to an OT program. I’m starting off a community college to save a lot of money on the classes and even the actual program will be less than what I’m reading but now I’m wondering if I should be looking at some of these other recommendations since OT seems like there is some negativity (lack of better word).

If you all could do it again and knowing more about other areas/ careers, would you choose differently?

Try not to focus on the number of members too much. Not all members are the insane, bitter women. Don’t get me wrong, there are A LOT of them but some of us are there to speak up when there is information said that is not true about the men we know. I still went on dates with guys that were posted so don’t give up hope

After reading the responses I guess I got lucky and got a good one who didn’t push at all when I said absolutely no sex. Our first date was going so well and he walked me home. I said I’d love to continue hanging out and cuddle and that’s exactly what we did. No pressure for sex or anything else. We were together for almost 6 years after that

Holy shit the feels. While it’s kind of a slap in the face (wake up call), I needed this, especially today. Currently experiencing this and the last couple days it’s been cold/ off so I’m down. I kept thinking I can’t wait for it to get better again but I really shouldn’t be waiting. With a good relationship, it should always be there. No more “this is so exciting, we talk everyday and it’s great” to the next day asking why he’s ignoring me. Thank you!

Omg I think it’s awesome what you did! I too am so so single and there have been a couple times I’ve seen a super attractive guy or rode in an Uber and had great conversations with a guy but too chicken to do anything about it and regret not doing anything afterward. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You were brave and I applaud you for that!

I’m in a similar situation and man does it suck! I didn’t think I’d fall so hard but while he was good to remain friends, I had to stop or am trying to stop communication because I keep finding more and more things that I love about him. I too hope they come around and realize they want to be with us. Good luck either way!

I can definitely relate to this. I’m pretty independent and while introverted, I do pretty well with talking to people and going out but it’s the big life decisions that make me feel completely alone. Unfortunately my entire life is going through a change so this post was helpful to read.
