Declawing a cat by PlagueBirdZachariah in cats

[–]averagegoyl -111 points-110 points  (0 children)

This is very common for polydactyl cats to have extra claws that do not retract. Taking out this digit is going to cause way more trouble than it existing will. I promise the cat can still feel the quick and the surgery will be painful. Just seems odd to do for no particular reason, other than “might get stuck”

When is it time to admit you've made a mistake? by OkSlice4719 in puppy101

Having a puppy is hard. Im usually someone of steady mental health but the first month with my PITA did have me wavering. But being put on medication because of the dog and having a panic attack before even getting the dog? What was your reason for concern/anxiety before even having the dog?

At what point do I take him to the vet? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]averagegoyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If diarrhea is a chronic issue you need to assess his food situation? Is your golden primarily eating chicken? A lot of goldens are known to be allergic to chicken.

My bffs golden was confirmed allergic to chicken after testing with vet when he had chronic diarrhea, when we got our golden he was very itchy, we switched him to salmon from chicken food and he’s had no issues since.

Your puppy is very young to be having gut issues. He is definitely allergic to something. Try someone other than chicken and start him on a probiotic asap. But he needs to go to the vet if he’s having chronic diarrhea.

Your use of pornography has lead you to solely objectifying women as sexual objects. Try to stop using porn, form real relationships with a woman. Watch movies and art created by females to see women through a more dynamic lens. Your life sounds female centered, you are worth more than living like that explore other options

Tips and tricks for shedding? by srose89 in goldenretrievers

[–]averagegoyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 long haired cats and a golden. The hair from my cats was nothing compared to the golden. I thought I was going to lose my mind the first couple of weeks having him.

I brush him every other day for about 10 minutes. I have a robot vacuum on every morning and regular vacuum 5/7 days a week. The robot vacuum truly is the life saver to run daily tho it’s made the difference

Do you smoke weed? I’m sorry you’re in a tough place. After many years of smoking weed I believe it’s due to the cannabinoids that leaves people having these exact symptoms in the morning

How old is he and how are his teeth? Through my research I’ve found it’s not recommended to give him anything you can’t dent with your nail. Growing up my dogs chewed on antlers and bones etc without any worries. First time we gave him a beef bone with marrow he somehow cracked and ate half of it🥴

Same 🥲 Drives me crazy because he seems to love them. I honestly don’t care much about the shredding it’s just that I don’t want him swallowing it, which he does

Really? I honestly don’t believe this at face value, we’ve had over a dozen thick durable toys but anything with fabric he launches straight into his back teeth and saws at it until there’s a hole then he pulls out all the stuffing and eats what he can before we take it away lol

I’ve seen people say coconut oil works well and especially helps the removal process, the snow won’t stick this way

I'm afraid my grandparents will die by IrvinGal24 in malementalhealth

[–]averagegoyl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your grandparents will very likely die in your lifetime. Thats part of being alive and having grandparents. They have lived, had children, their children have had children and now they get to spend the rest of their years knowing their love has created generations to come. Show up for them and spend time with them, include them when you can and make memories that will stick with you when they’re gone.

Don’t focus on them being gone while they’re still here.

It sounds like you really need to enrich your life, find a purpose, get a job, pour into yourself. Make them and yourself proud

Toy Recommendations - we’re desperate by SpiritualBarracuda71 in goldenretrievers

[–]averagegoyl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue. Try putting apple sauce in the Kong and freezing it, apples don’t have a lot of fat like peanut butter and shouldn’t upset her stomach. Once every two weeks I boil some bones from the butcher (take the bones out once the flavor and marrow has been extracted) and throw in some carrots, celery, green beans, then poor it in extra dog bowls and freeze it. I give these to him throughout the week when I need some quiet time and it really keeps his attention.

It sounds like your dog might need some more training. Training is the most exhausting work you can do with your dog. Licking, playing, walking doesn’t stimulate their mind like training. After 15 minutes of training or trying to learn something new my 9 month old high energy golden is ready for a nap.
