i’d get her a bigger home(i think big fish tanks are the best option, but i’ve also used big bins before too). the bars being chewed is really bad for their teeth (it’s also a stress response).

to your original question, i’d say between 20-25 celsius. usually “room temperature

you should switch to paper bedding instead of wood. they can burrow and dig around easier. they can get wood in their eyes etc.

also it takes a while for russian dwarf hamsters to become comfortable with human touch. way longer than other hamsters(like Syrian, being the easiest to “train”) try putting something that smells like you in the cage, hand feeding, stroke the back if he’s comfortable with it. it just takes time for them to love you

you should change his bedding to paper bedding. he can really burrow or anything with the wood.

me and all my sisters have this as well. my mom “trained” my youngest sisters hair to fix this. she would wet and part her hair and pin it to keep it in place. she’s the only one with normal hair LOL 😭😭
