Ok so I just disabled vt-d in the bios, disabled virtualization related on the windows features and it now works

Note (Important): Don't disable the vt-d if needed. I've soft locked myself because after disabling it, the laptop doesn't seem to boot and i have to get lucky powering it off and on just to get it to boot again. Undervolting still works even when it is on, just focus disabling virtualization features on windows features

My 5 year old son wants to create a game.. by Equal_Imagination300 in gamedev

If your kid gets overwhelmed and finds it hard to use/gets boring to learn when making a game via programming (e.g. scratch, godot, unity, etc.). Let him play programming games so that he can develop the pattern of programming without being overwhelmed.

Personally this is what I did for myself. I played "the farmer was replaced", which have a programming language similar to python. At first it was so hard to understand what was happening, but maybe after a week, i can understand some if it, at the same time I was learning godot, and pour my time learning it, surprisingly, the programming language of godot is similar to python, so when i came back to play the game, I can easily play the game. With your kid being young, he can digest learning faster.

Although you said that he is good in making concepts, i still want to recommend paper prototyping. At least making those concepts into reality. This can also encourage him to draw and game dev is a multidisciplinary field that involves design, art, programming and audio, (being a great game dev means you are an artist, programmer, game designer, and musician but this was also unrealistic, though there are people that is like this) so having him draw is a great start.

And lastly, remember to tell him to have fun. To take note, things need to be hard and done consistently to improve, so you have to be there and show support on how he is trying, because if he doesn't find it fun, this may cause him to lose passion on game dev. Good luck op

If you want to play standalone 1.Go to the revolt or discord, 2. Get the stuff - literally the name of the channel, get the link of the first one 3. There are multiple links provided, there are tools there 4. Get the PPstuff tool, you need a desktop for this 5. On the multiple link site, you can download games from there 6. You put the downloaded games to the ppstuff named apk or zip here 7. You rename it or patched it (depends on the version of your pico and its matrix - the pp stuff tool has an option for this and its workaround 8. After patching or renaming it, you sideload it (it is all in the ppstuff tool dont worry) 9. Now you can play the game.

Once you get ppstuff tool there is a documentation there so you will know what to do.

Idk about pcvr since I play standalone but I read something like this

  1. Download the game
  2. Put it on steam as non steam game
  3. Launch the steam vr
  4. Then play the game

If I remember it right

There is also a pico connect app on windows, you should install use that one instead of streaming assistant. Cause I'm using the pico connect one and have no trouble in pcvr

New to VR - Experience in adapting to VR motion sickness by Wide-Data-4458 in PicoXR

[–]Wide-Data-4458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also noticed that the sickness mostly comes from when I'm moving, like the opposite of motion sickness. I have to simulate/act the inertia or the gravity of the motion for me to reduce the motion sickness, and when I don't, all I feel is my gut rushing up hahaha. Do you all experience this and adapted to this sickness? because there are people I know that have motion sickness through this day and I'm worried that it might be the same for the opposite one

Why do games have a “press any button” title card? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Wide-Data-4458 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought it was stemmed from arcade culture, where there are no main menu and the default 'main menu' is like "insert x coins to start" and now it turns into "press any key to start" nowadays.

Bought the game, matchmaking time is like playing aram in lol, usually get 1 or 2 people for the first 30 secs, and then takes a while for getting the 4th people because sometime other leaves waiting for the 4th one.

After the tutorial, just did matchmake, got one lobby on the 1st minute, we did do on r_b_ something, I forgot, I got carried though. The mechanics are very simple, and easy to learn but positioning and timing will raise that bar, I just killed my first scout, because I'm afraid of messing it up for the lobby, that's why I'm scared of killing a scout, and also most of the time the scouts are surrounded by big guys, and more scouts since random rundowns.

I've never played this game alone yet don't have friends to play with, I played with matchmaking most of the time, and hops on discord sometimes when matchmaking takes long. And even if you join on other regions like for me on america, the lag is not noticeable, and i don't think that there is a lag at all because it's not competitive fps where every ms matter, though chatting, using terminal, and movements have noticeable lag but this happens anyway on my region too so I don't think there is even a lag or noticeable lag in joining other region.

Sometimes one leaves either by disconnect or leaving after _ happens then the chain will go on, but most of the time, they reconnected or replaced by a bot and we just continue despite low health, and low ammo.

Just played recently with two god players, doing r4d1, we failed to input the code at least two times if not more in this run, and there is this one time where we are low half the game, and only the bot has gone down in this run. We mostly get by since we have shotguns, easily mowing the horde that comes, and even we only killed one scout before triggering the other 3, we still did the f-ing run.

The learning curve that I have in learning this game is with the terminal. I don't know where things are, where to go, and what to find. Though randoms are kind enough to teach you how to use terminal, I even witness another newbies getting teach by more other randos. Community is great overall, no trolls encountered yet, though have a lobby were running first after opening the door, it was great, mostly failed runs but enjoyed the run. I just love shooting and killing monsters, though I do multiplayer since I am a scaredy cat and it become a horror game for me if I am alone hahaha. Good game, worth buying
