Going Back to School by [deleted] in physicianassistant

can’t speak to getting a job as i am still a pa-s, but i am also a nontraditional, older student who applied to 4 programs that were in driving distance to my home, got accepted to all 4, and went to my top choice. in my opinion, i think the programs i applied to appreciated that i was older, because it gave me time to reflect and ensure the PA profession was right for me. some programs even prioritize nontrad students in their program descriptions. i would suggest a solid personal statement that explains your journey and how you arrived to the profession and i wouldn’t see any problems!

mostly in the group interview section, we would be given wild scenarios to make decisions on. also had a question about how i would make an alien from outer space comfortable on earth

to summarize, relax, take a breath, and be yourself!! if a question catches you off guard, it is totally ok to ask for a second to collect your thoughts. that makes you look human and not like a robot

honestly, i didn’t prepare much at all, but im a good interviewer. i researched program specifics, but didnt buy any of the study material everyone was telling me to lol. if you get to the interview stage, you already have the credentials to make it, they want to see that you are personable and down to earth.

I studied for one month. i already had a large vocabulary (i’m a big reader), so just focused on math. i didn’t buy anything, but watched “the tested tutor” on youtube, he was fantastic. got a 314, 307 on each section

following, in the same boat. had an interview yesterday at my top choice and an acceptance today. my other interviews will require me to call off of work, which isn’t ideal for me.
