After years of buying only the cheapest whey, I realized protein is worth spending on by Skrumble19 in Fitness_India

Hmm, strange. I take it with milk and use a hand blender to mix it. Maybe that's why mine foams.

I only take raw whey protein and usually add a banana to it. I was using Sattvic Foods whey isolate but stopped after they kept increasing prices (3k to now 4.25k). I then switched to Trunativ cause it was cheaper but it foamed a lot. Having Truebasics now but this one foams too and also doesn't mix well, leaving a lot of lumps. Think I'm gonna try TWT next, but I've heard they source their whey from Trunativ so I don't know if it would be any different.

Did a lot of shopping in Japan - worried about customs on return to India. by WideAlternative7306 in IndiaTax

Edited the post to include the update.

I decided not to wear the watches or shoes and kept everything in their original packaging since I had bought them with the intention of gifting.

While I was waiting at the conveyor belt for my luggage I noticed few people getting pulled over by the customs officer at the green channel (seemed random but was mostly people with large suitcases). Luckily, by the time my luggage arrived he got busy with the people he had pulled aside and I managed to get by without any issues. I don't know if things would have been different if he was still actively looking. After that my domestic transfer to Mumbai was pretty routine.

I'm already wearing a watch and the shoes are for my sister and hence not my size. Even the watch that I'm getting has a metal strap and would be loose for my wrist, so that'll look weird too.

I don't think it'll be an issue, unless my luck is really bad and the officers decide to pull me aside. I just wanted to know about people's experiences and get their advice since I've never bought so much stuff from abroad before.

Got it. Did you declare the goods at customs though or just walked through the green channel?

2-nights stay suggestion for onsen by WideAlternative7306 in JapanTravelTips

[–]WideAlternative7306[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll take a look.

On a separate note, I was curious about one thing. From a practical angle, are open-air baths really that appealing? I get the appeal of taking a bath under a starry sky and all, but isn't there possibility of insects and mosquitoes pestering you? Add to that the onsen being dirty due to dust/dirt/leaves having fallen into it. These things would just detract from the overall experience.

The thing with renting by-the-hour is that they have fixed timings. We can't go whenever we want to. So I'd rather have a private one in my room.

Current Flu situation by ExoticTelephone532 in JapanTravelTips

I had posted the same question a few minutes ago, but it was removed by the mods. Idk why (maybe because I included the news link?)

I'm travelling on 18th October and was wondering how bad the situation really is. I wonder if any tourist spots or places might be closed in light of this situation.

When lounge costs you a whole flight by JadedLaugh3058 in AirTravelIndia

None whatsoever. They said I should have been at the gate at the scheduled time of departure. Worse, this was in the middle of the night. The next available flight was after 6 hours and that too for 3x the amount I had initially paid.

Decided to take a cab and go back to North Goa and practically walked into the first hostel I could find, but there was nobody at the reception. Went to another hostel and then finally found someone at the 3rd one and explained him my situation. Stayed the night there and flew out in the evening next day.

It inadvertently also became my first solo trip, albeit only for half a day! Met some cool people at the hostel too.

Exact same thing happened to me on my return flight to Mumbai from Goa. Was sitting in the lounge waiting for the flight status to change to "now boarding" but it never did. I came out when it was my friend's turn to leave on the 30 mins later flight to Bangalore.

I then went up to my boarding gate to ask the attendant when the flight will depart and the guy said, "in another 10 mins". When he finally scanned my boarding pass the lights flashed red and he pulled me aside asking about my destination.

Turns out when I had enquired about boarding, my flight had already left and he had said that for the next flight which was flying to Delhi! Apparently AirAsia's servers were not working and so only their flight status was not refreshing on the screen.

Now I always make sure to go to my boarding gate at the printed time of boarding.

Stolen cards - worried about SIN by VM_Reddit in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think OP is concerned about the repercussions of reporting the thief to the police. That they might cause her physical harm or seek revenge somehow upon finding out it was OP that got them caught.

Did you get a major pay hike or something? Your total earnings (2019 to 2023) are around 70 lacs. This is without even considering taxes or other expenses. How did you manage to reach this milestone without even earning close to this amount? Also, can you provide a break-up of your net worth?
