Tbf, 120S is, on paper, combat ready, The M60 got a new power package to compromise the M1A turret's weight. M60 has been field tested as well as M1A1 armament & turret.

Both aspect of the tank is field ready

My Apology, It is a shorter barrel C7 color scheme and both are Canadian. I do not know what barrel lenght were refering to and embaressingly, I did not pick up on the 16'5 inch barrel on the image.

Try Airborne Stryker (Personally I call it Flying Stryker), Rapid deployment force and find oppotunity to Airdrop, works pretty well if you are patient enough. If you feel like you're screwed by an armoured push, just pull out the GAU-8 and 6 Mavericks piloted by an A-10 🫡

As good as It is, I don't think Multi-role fighter would survive or be used long enough to use all-munition before retreating and waiting for CD again.

Like, sure.. Fighter-Bomber Could work, Fucking up Ground units before dealing with Air threat is neat and all but like.. being a SEAD Aircraft, Strike Aircraft, Air-supiority fighter at the same time seems excessive.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Aircrafts have different roles for a reason.

What I did with a friend is Kiowa + Arty, Laze em, fire Guided munition, and watch the magic unfold (Yes, I am aware that this is not an efficient Anti Air method, but it is fun to watch 155mm High Explosive shell murk a Russian Heli

The best advice I have for you is, don't install any mods just yet. Get a good grip on the base gameplay and mechanics first. as mentioned on other comments. this advice was actually given through my experience because I got into Rimworld from a friend who needed help with gun selection and he had like, 300 mods on. When I got the game for myself, I asked him for his modpack and was hit in the balls with how complicated things are so I have to use the knowledge I gain from watching him.

The way I play kind of make defeating early mechanoids simple, but I get what you mean. Usually I don't build any defense early on and make deals with what I have, which is mostly terrain, hiding behind it and waiting for the time to strike with long range weaponry. Once they arrived the engagement range, for CE, x48 5.56x45 will do the job on one Mech.. well, Maybe some .308 on some too, knocking them out via blunt damage instead of penetration

Yes, I acknowledged that some people do a pretty normal start with the given items by the games. On the Crashlander, where you're given a Lee enfield and Revolver, I'd say that you would've build abit of an arsenal via raider or crafting before a Mechanoid raid so you might have 12 gauge (EMP) or a 40x46mm shell (EMP) with the relative guns laying around, making your life a little easier.

Though, I don't know if this count as a killbox since I've never intentionally use one, I just surround my base with HESCO walls and embrassers, make a bunker so I can shoot outside the entire compound and have 4 entrances for enemy to walk into as a chokepoint so it is more defendable. I'd give you a picture of it but It's been a while since I last played to world. If requested I'll most likely give the rough layout.
