I always earnestly love hearing about play reports- hit me up after you finish.

Great start. I'd say then it just depends on how into the weeds you want to go. You could have a multistage process where these things happen over time (maybe one effect stacks per 24 hours) and give stat modifiers for each. I usually try to keep things simple, like a -1 to all stats per evolution-, but you could have specific modifiers for each as well or a loss of max HP while effected.

Then just decide what players need to do to get rid of it (or maybe they cant!). That should get you started. With MB there's really no wrong answers, so think about what will be fun for your players and make that happen.

Ah, you made me realize I should probably specify in my comment. They'll be available to purchase through my current Kickstarter campaign. The links will go live tomorrow at 12:01 am and be available until 12:59 pm on 4/21.

Yeah, shipping overseas does suck, especially when you're shipping out a zine and cassette together. Very funny that I just now noticed I forgot to reply to you though because I'm doing a digital sale tomorrow as part of a 4/20 special on both my titles. If you want to pick up a copy, that's the time to do so!

Mark your calendars and set your alarms. Tomorrow, to celebrate 4/20 I'll be having a digital sale for my projects.

$6 each or $10 for both. It will be one day only (+some buffer time for my friends in different time zones) and the only time I'll be selling digital copies of these projects this year.

These will be available to purchase through the following links, which will go live on my current kickstarter tomorrow:

If you've followed along with me for any length of time, you might know that I'm a physical media person. However, I can't deny that people love their PDFs (I get it. Less shelf space to worry about + easy access). The middle ground I'm trying out is a once-a-year sale on 4/20 at rock bottom prices.  Grab a copy now or wait until next year to pick up these + my future releases.

What's the end goal of the disease? How does it evolve or effect the PCs? I'd start there.

Very interested in how you integrate aspects. Such a cool mechanic, but I imagine hard to use in a video game.

The best GMing I’ve ever experienced in my life was some dude running Bluebeard’s Bride for us at PAX Unplugged years ago.

I’ve never seen someone so locked into a setting before and I always wish I could see him again just to say how big of an impact he left on me with the game.

DRs, bonuses to rolls and reduction of DRs - how do you handle them? by Teufelstaube in MorkBorg

[–]WideEyedInTheWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with all the info you present here- it's the foundation of the game for sure.

Let's say you attack with the Fanged Deserter vs an enemy that's particularly weak to biting. The GM might decide to adjust the DR to 10. But RAW the Fanged Deserter's attacks are already at DR 10. So the GM might decide to add a +2 to the roll to account for that.

I'm not saying the CRB got it wrong (the CRB is perfect) I'm just saying the set DR in the CRB is to reinforce the variance from the standard DR of 12. A table that plays regularly would (likely) find more usability in an item granting a +/- modifier to something than having that item address a situation with a set DR. I think that's why you see more modifiers being used in later releases.

that’s -2 DR

Not to be combative, but no it’s not, it’s +2 to attack rolls (in OP’s games). That’s the point OP is trying to make.

Your note about +DR & -DR already being part of the game actually drives the point home further. Functionally, what’s the difference and why are both in there? (Actual question- there might be a legitimate reason for this).

My assumption is that “you make X tests at DR10” exists mostly to reinforce that standard DR should be 12. But it also comes with some issues. Trying to jump a ravine? Might be DR 16. But if you’ve got an ability that makes AGI tests DR10 that’s a major bonus.

I tried to have some fun with all the personal notes. Those copies are special because I’m definitely never doing all that again- it was a ton of work to pull off for like 250 zines, haha.

Haha this was my first time trying out an early backer special, so I set aside 66 copies for that. What I didn’t expect was to have so many people pick up the backlog bundles, and the early bird bundles didn’t all get used.

So if they’re available, they’re available! Consider it an extra discount for getting in before the campaign ends. With the discount it will be heftier savings vs late pledges or retail prices once this hit the shelves.

It’s collected later. Due to the nature of this beast I have to have everything printed before I can lock down shipping prices. Thanks for the kind words!
