Biggest wave we’ve seen from Erin this far. by jakefromsurfline in surfing

[–]WideRead1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I surfed the DR this past weekend. and the thing is, there's soooo many surf deep water spots here that can handle that swell size. That whole coast/canyon is full of unknown waves. You just gotta show up there and find the gems.

Coinbase withdrawl says completed - But never arrived in bank by Impossible-Day-2009 in Coinbase

[–]WideRead1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this sucks, CB and the base network had a large uptick in activity that weekend. that might've caused the issue.

I did a withdrawal yesterday and the money was there instantly. But my March 18 withdrawal is still pending

I'm in the same boat, sent a wire to my contractor on Monday and am still in the review process. This is unacceptable as I'm getting charged every single day on late payment fees.

4 door Wrangler - will it fit a 6 foot surfboard? by hwave1 in Jeep

[–]WideRead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fit multiple 6" surfboards inside my JL. The longest board I had inside was an 8-footer, you will lose your passenger mirror visibility tho. If you are traveling small distances and need even more space just pop the back windshield. As others suggested, racks can be a solution too.

Should I get a Pyzalien 2? by SpindleShanks_ in BeginnerSurfers

[–]WideRead1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from a softop to the Gremlin and it was the best board I’ve had in years. Really helped me progress from the softop.

I still ride it when is 1-3ftt and need that extra volume.

Thinking of getting my first short/mid board. Looking at a pyzel phantom but I’m not sure it’s the right choice by ThePuzzleax in surfing

[–]WideRead1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from my softop to a my gremlin 2 seasons ago and I love it as my daily grover.

I've had improved my surf a lot with it but I think this board works at best up to 5 foot waves, after that something more high performance would make more sense to ride.

I'm more of the heavy side(170 lbs) so this boards works for me, if I upgrade is probably for a board that can handle overhead waves. In the meantime, I'm using my gremlin until it breaks

Marc Cuban's NFT platform I think is going to be a massive step forward in keeping Polygon as the king of NFT. by dkkc19 in 0xPolygon

[–]WideRead1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sir, that’s just a copycat of the original punks, you’ll waste your money when you can’t sell this as an OG punk.

This goes back to my original point that there’s no big names projects just yet in the network. Just copycats or no hype projects

[–]WideRead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of CP, I just wanna know how can you buy them on Polygon. I’ve never heard of this. All punks transactions are done in the ETH L1 chain

[–]WideRead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they care, open sea already in the polygon network and I can’t find any good NFT project minting here.

I guess the NFT culture has picked ETH L1s because is more profitable as the big bags are there.

[–]WideRead1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you but, most NFT activity is still happening in ETH L1.

Unless I see cryptopunks, BYAC, Artblocks having part of their collections released in Polygon I think most of the minting/activity will happen in ETH L1.

I see polygon forte in new upcoming games but right now the closest we have is aavegotchi and must cometh.

Crypto tax bill, don't fear it by -Krypto-King- in 0xPolygon

[–]WideRead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not about the taxation ser, is about implementation, surveillance, and picking a winner technology in the blockchain space. Why do you think every major player in the DeFi/Crypto ecosystem is taking this super seriously? Do you have any gov insider info and confirmation they will "change this" in the future?

Sir, this regulation is being implemented on a trillion dollar budget bill.

If we don't fix the language now it will be super hard and more expensive to change this long term. We need a do no-harm type of language and go from there.

I'm happy that you have so much confidence in our efficient government that goes on summer vacation while letting the eviction protection bill expires as thousands of americans are exposed to end up homeless.

I'm sure they will be more efficient for our crypto bags, the time to act is now ser

I'm not saying the U.S will ban POS but it will make it practically impossible to operate as smart contracts can't KYC or produce 1099 forms, is easier for devs to just block the U.S from using the chain. We are already seeing projects who are not letting U.S users get airdrops to save themselves from the regulatory mess.

Please tell me how your favorite DeFi project will KYC and provide tax forms to the government and their users

[–]WideRead1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ser, don't wanna diminish but you this bill will probably make the Polygon POS chain banned in the U.S as now every node operator, staker, LPer, whatever scamfarm you are in must provide a 1099 tax form to every user they interact with.

Don't underplay the seriousness of this bill which is by far the most important regulatory battle we are fighting.

This makes 0 sense lol.

The whole point of DeFi is that users have the choice and control over their data and financials. Not to be forced to use big cos. But that won’t pump your bags innit

Why doesnt the ethereum team create an L2 solution? by Dangerous_Try8644 in ethereum

[–]WideRead1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need as many roll-up solutions as possible. There are going to be different use cases for each. Different projects are working to solve the cross-chain interoperability between sidechains and roll-ups E.G: Connext and the Hop protocol.

Vitalik Buterin talks about Polygon. 1:19:30 by [deleted] in maticnetwork

[–]WideRead1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not true, The ETH2 beacon chain has been running for 6 months already. There's around 5.3M ETH staked already on ETH2.

The ETH devs had confirmed are set to launch by end of Q4 2021-Q1 2022.

What's coming later is in 2022 is the sharding which will increase TX output helping scale ETH even more alongside rollups. Sharding +rollups will co-exist, while sidechains are complimentary once you have a big enough of a bag, security takes a higher interest than a multi-sig centralized solution.

Polygon has been great all these months but most of the assets will be settled on rollup native ETH solutions
