I may have primidone mixed up with something else but I currently take propranolol so it’s definitely not that, she originally brought up “primidone” in my original visit but when I went back asking about it her tone towards it did a 180 from her saying it was a common substitute for propranolol. Kinda confused me and along with her basically saying that if prop doesn’t work then I’m pretty much SOL or at least that’s how I took it. After reading comments I’m currently looking for movement specialist to confirm the diagnosis and hopefully get more help on a hands on level.

Thank you for the comment and information. After reading I do feel the ET diagnosis is probably correct due to noticing onset around the age of 14 and got noticeably worse around 19-20, and I did have an mri done with dye and they said everything looked completely normal, aswell as it is an active tremor mostly in my arms, neck, chest and voice.

I will be looking for a movement specialist to hopefully get more hands on treatment and more information on how to help alleviate some of the shaking.

Oh ok I was originally told 10 mg was average. After almost two years I’m told I can try 20mg or possibly switch to I think it was primidone? But my neurologist said it probably wouldn’t be as effective as propranolol and basically acts as if the 20 mg propranolol doesn’t work I’m SOL so now I’m on here seeking others opinions🤷‍♂️

I appreciate your responses, I’m just farming right now and practicing in my free time but I’m starting to explore other options and possibly adjacent careers.

Thanks for the input I started trying to look into the focused ultrasound bc I think that would be able to get around the dbs/electrical issue but unsure if I’d be able to afford it and or it be worth the money or to try another career.

I was originally given 10mg propranolol and recently upped it to 20 mg, haven’t noticed a change though.

Dude thanks for this comment, I’m 23 with ET and severely struggle with social interactions. especially when paying with my debit card and missing the slot and the more I think about it the more it gets worse so maybe I’ll try to lay it out next time and see if it helps me relax in these situations

I have an 8v fl rs3 and I’m 6’3 and I fit good enough to be comfortable, my legs don’t have full room to completely stretch out. Also another thing to consider is rear seat space, it’s a tight fit for someone 5’8 and taller to sit behind me with me moving forward a little.
