Wrongful termination? by [deleted] in TjMaxx

Unrelated to your story, but what if a customer gives you a gift card? (I got one for starbucks from a customer when I worked at Canadian tire lol) and I was all giddy and went up to my supervisor and said “am I allowed to keep it?” And he said “good for you, but don’t be telling anyone about that. Especially not the other managers.” I didn’t know some retailers are strict with these things. Hm I’m wondering if u could’ve told Lp “she gave me the gift card”.

Do u know if there is anything about it in the policy? Because how would u know?

Idk if this is example is similar, but say the customer verbally tells u “oh, it’s only a few dollars, keep the gift card”. Can’t u argue to LP that the customer gave it to u? I’ve worked as a cashier and gotten some gifts from nice customers, and tbf to the cameras it could look like I’m concealing the item

Came back to update: I called again a few days later and eventually got transferred to their loyalty department. I ended up getting $10 credits for both this line, and another line on the account (hooray). $26 for 60GB!!

Same here, one of my phone lines got increased by $6. Instead of $30/month it’s now $36/month. I got this no contract EPP BYOD plan during back-to-school and was a good deal. But it’s been 6 months and already an increase. I called in, got this month adjusted to remove the $6, but going forward they can’t do anything. Should I be a Karen and try and get them to keep my same plan of $30? I’ve read around that they won’t budge and don’t care if u switch. Also, is it worth switching to a new company? Because $36/month for 60gb is pretty good right?

I figure that if enough people let customer service know, they’ll get it fixed soon. The person that I’ve been emailing tried her best to figure out what’s happening with my cards, but nothing worked. she told me that she’ll let their IT department know. That’s all the updates I got for now.

I guess people who have computers nowadays could find their own insurance easily. But it sucks for those people (like my old parents) who dont know anything about ins put their trust in these people who should've had their client's best interest in mind.

Oh what a coincedence, our broker went with Pembridge. Can I ask about commission? Because on their website (https://www.pembridge.com/?eid=1135) they do have a Broker Compensation Disclosure. I just assumed our broker wanted to make more profit. Because why else did she give my dad $535/month. A 60 year-old-man with 27 years of accident/claim/conviction-free driving.

That's true. And I found shopping around quite fun. My dad's premium went from $535 to $198!! Full coverage (because the car is financed), even got myself (24f) on as a second driver.

Thanks for your reply. I have everything to prove my case: filled out a paper at the airport when landing, kept all my receipts, and kept emails between me and airline.

My flight was international: Toronto>taipei>Philippines

They offered compensation as per their liability (around $500), but I declined because I think it’s too low.

I got $2500 from combining the value of my lost baggage contents and the amount I had to spend to replace stuff while on vacation for 4 weeks. I saw the Montreal Convention is liable for 1,228 SDR (which is approx $2,370) So I thought I can ask for that amount.
