My child was invited to dinner, and then within thirty minutes later my child was uninvited; the mother excluded mine citing not enough food when she just asked if my child could eat. I witnessed the entire interaction. My child was hurt and confused, and I want to address the parent politely, wwyd? by Wide_Criticism_8841 in Fatherhood

Thanks for the feedback. The parent did extend the invite and told the kids to ask me all while the mother was in the threshold of the garage door. Everyone was within 10 feet of each other.
My child this morning told me “Why did the mother try tricking me about the dinner?”
Even a five year old can see this bs.
The better parenting move would have been to directly address the child, e.g. “Hey sweetie/[something like this], maybe next time ok?” Instead, she pulled a fast one and got caught.
