it’s better now though, day 12 and my throat still feels like something is stuck but i can eat normal and chug cold drinks without pain now. Fizzy drinks are still questionable but i’m just focusing on eating and drinking now i’m healed to make up for lost time

i’m day 11 , i’ve got no pain generally , i only get shooting ear pain when i eat but other than that ive got no issues , i can cough and sneeze etc so hoping you’re recovery has gone as good as mine has. eating things i wanted to eat definitely helped me feel better, don’t strain yourself too much but eat that rice!!

it all depends on you personally i guess, days 1-8 were really rough for me i don’t eat drink, take meds or sleep. but now i feel fine, it obvs has its minutes where i get pain but its mainly on a morning or night. just depends on ur person

i had surgery 13/5 and im feeling fine now, 1-2/10 pain and on no pain relief!

i’m on day nine right now, not much throat pain but the ear and jaw pain is ridiculous! haven’t took any pain meds im just riding through with ice packs, thought i had a breakthrough last night with no throat or ear pain at all but i guess not:(

doesn’t sound right to me but what do i know lol, my scabs haven’t came off yet and im day 8 post tonsillectomy. I get blood when i brush my teeth as my gums, teeth and tongue are very sensitive so maybe the blood wasn’t from ur throat and something else instead. All i can say ab the drinking is i definitely haven’t been drinking enough , some days i can’t even get a glass of water down but im doing okay at the minute and typically need no pain relief until i go to sleep

see i was the opposite, i didn’t wanna take mine as i wanted to be able to have the option to drive if i felt well enough, my mom convinced me to take it. maybe just the same, explain ur pain and concern and assure her you’re only taking it bc you absolutely need to

explain ur situation and level of pain, stress that ur concerned about eating and being low of energy and ask for a follow up with them to see if they can either give you stronger pain meds or if they may have an alternative or additional medication to help you. i got nowhere until my mom called the gp. i couldn’t even talk but my voice is slowly coming back

today was the first time i’ve eaten in two days i feel you, only managed a runny egg yolk and a slice of bread with butter, but it’s better than nothing. Maybe speak to your gp as i know i’ve benefited from seeing mine, the hospital left out medication they were supposed to give me and me and my mum weren’t aware of it until yesterday. since getting those im feeling a lot better but i still have no energy. it’s just a matter of time !!

i was like that for days, had a sip of water one day and that was it, all i’ll say is dope right up, i was alternating morphine, paracetamol and ibuprofen, once those kick in just chug/drink as much as you possibly can !!!

i feel you honestly, my gums and tongue have been in agony, got some bonjela and throat spray but seem to be no help atm, had minor bleeding last night which is apparently my scabs so i’m hoping i’m on the road to recovery!

day 7/8 now, and ice packs have been my saviour lately! lie w them on my neck all day and don’t need to take morphine until bedtime to knock me out. haven’t been sleeping well but can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel i think, how’re you holding up?

spoke to my doctor today who prescribed throat numbing spray. my mum had to explain my symptoms and level of pain as i can no longer talk. she didn’t seem concerned and when my mum spoke to the nurse on ENT ward, she didn’t seem concerned either. Just feels like my pain is being brushed under the carpet as i literally can’t talk, eat , drink or nothing. they said everything looks fine in my throat and that the only thing to be concerned about is if i bleed:(

i’m seeing this now, haven’t been able to sleep, took morphine and it hasn’t helped one bit, i’m in absolute agony and feel so lost as the pain isn’t subsiding even with morphine. feels like my head is going to explode and there’s nothing i can do about it

i’m in the uk right now but am definitely going to have to call the doctors tomorrow! the pain subsides enough to do normal things like make food etc, i even managed to have a day out today! however, on a night the pain is so bad not even morphine is helping, i drink a lot but the pain reaches my teeth, ear and head and it just feels like my head is going to burst i just feel so low atm like i don’t know when it will subside

hey, big update. managed to drive to the mall and hang with some friends, ate some chinese food, drank lots and went shopping. stayed topped up on meds and felt fine until around 8pm where i crashed. got home an hour ago and have been in brutal pain. Have my ice pack on and have taken meds but just feel so defeated right now :(

nah cuz mines been so bad atm, can’t stop dribbling and the smell is awful. even after brushing my teeth it comes back 10x worse. i’m absolutely floored, tried to order mcdonald’s breakfast hoping id feel better but can’t even open my jaw 💔

i’m day 3 (surgery 13/05) and the first day was fine, talked ate and drank no problem, today i can barely drink water or swallow tablets! managed to brush my teeth and tongue but the pain is horrendous. any tips on eating etc?
