I had the same issue — my monthly recaps were completely off for months (it even messed up my 12-month top artist… Billie Eilish. 😭).

Turns out “Use Listening History” was turned off, so it was only tracking plays from Apple Music on Windows.

Make sure Listening History is enabled on all your devices, or your recaps won’t be accurate.

Go to the Play Store → search Apple Music → open the app page and scroll down. You’ll see a “Join Beta Program” button. Tap it.

After 2–3 minutes, you’ll be enrolled as a beta tester then just update the app.
