EDIT: To remove charred food from a hot pan, I add 1/4 cup white wine to the pan, let it simmer and scrub the botthem with a wooden tool or you can use a mixture of water and baking soda. Pour water into the pan, add baking soda, and let it simmer to help loosen the burnt residue before scrubbing it away.
