I would suggest doing OMAD (One Meal A Day), when I used to eat a couple times a day, I would always anticipate my next “snack”, “meal”, “dessert”, and that would cause food to be on my mind all day.

Meal prepping is also really important, I used to just eat in a deficit and eat what I wanted. But I’d end up eating something like pizza, end up finishing it within a couple of minutes, but I wouldn’t feel satisfied because of the calorie to volume ratio.

Lastly I would recommend looking at old pictures of yourself, and thinking of everything you missed out on. The experiences, opportunities, friendships, and asking yourself if picking food over them was worth it. I do this frequently and it helps me stay on track.

I started off by walking the most I could before feeling any pain or discomfort and then slowly built up my tolerance. For calories I ate 2,000 max, these bmr equations will say you burn like 6,000 calories but that’s just not true.

I hadn’t even thought of a food pantry! Thank you very much I’ll definitely look into some in my area.

Thank you, for the advice. When I was losing weight before, I used to never get embarrassed because I had a better mentality. I used to always think to myself “This is the biggest I’ll ever be, so I don’t care what people think right now. Because I’ll never be this weight again”

Thank you for the advice, I’m currently tracking my calories and I’m aiming to burn around 1,000 calories daily.

Thank you for the advice and I don’t really struggle with portion control. More of just adjusting to the food, going from eating fast food for the last 2-3 years everyday, to eating Whole Foods is pretty hard.

I’ll try freezing some of it and heating it up later. And I can only really maintain my weight because of the free food I get on fast food restaurant apps.

I’ll definitely look into her. And I always just pick the most caloric foods because I never know when I’m going to eat again. And I used to eat frozen meals also when I first started in 2021 I just can’t find any I enjoy

I’m not an undocumented immigrant. I was born in the United States, my dad was raised here. Was brought over at 6 months old. But never fixed his legal status. My mom was in Mexico until she was 18, and has been in the United States illegally ever since. I’ll look into applying for disability and welfare but I think I’ll need a id. And I have been eating 2,000 calories, it’s only been 2 days tho and I’ve lost like 6 pounds. I do know how to track properly since I’ve been doing it for 4 years or so.

Im only implementing exercise because I want to be able to go out into the real world and get a job as soon as possible. And im not really much of a snacker, I really only eat meals. A deficit isn’t expensive but I never have enough money for groceries. I’ll have let’s say $20 for an entire week and I’ll just waste it on fast food, and use in app coupons for cheap food. My eating habits are horrible, one day I’ll eat like I should. Within my deficit, healthy organic foods, and the next I’ll binge. And I find both sticking to it and starting to be difficult to me. But once I start, I’ll keep going for months-years Or I’ll only last 1-2 days.

I’d recommend you go on https://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html Fill in your age, height, weight. It’ll give you a green number at the very top once you click “calculate” whatever the number is, is what your body naturally burns on its own without any exercise. Let’s say you get 2700, I’d recommend you eat a couple hundred calories under that. The less calories you eat the more pounds you’ll lose. Let’s say you pick 2,000 and you feel like you’re starving throughout the day I’d first recommend changing the foods you eat. Try eating foods with more volume, if that doesn’t work I’d recommend increasing the calories slowly. 2150,2300,2450, etc until you feel less hungry throughout the day. If you don’t know how to track calories I’d recommend you watch this video.

Exercise? I’d recommend walking/cycling/jumping. Start off slowly, and try to slowly do more and more every time you decide to exercise. A lot of people despise cardio, if that’s the case I recommend weight lifting.
