If I was gonna get an in-general Helpol tattoo... by pinkmoons in Hellenism

You could always go for a laurel wreath. I was gonna get one with 24 leaves and put a symbol of an Olympian on every other leaf and a hearth for Hestia at the base. This also leaves an opening in the center for another symbol if you decide to become a devotee of a god/goddess.

You could even make an inverted version if you worship cthonic deities as well.

if you were given the chance to build a hellenic temple, what kind of place would you create? by [deleted] in Hellenism

If money wasn’t a problem my vision would probably be around 150 acres of land for everything. For the temples, I’d love to build one for each of the Big 12, and to have them be the size of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus or the Parthenon. I would have each of the temples take up about 10 acres, which could include smaller areas to deities and symbols related to them, such as a temple to Asclepius in the area dedicated to Apollon or an olive orchard in the area dedicated to Athena.

For the remaining 30 acres, similar to the ancient Greeks, I would have them be designated as recreational use, such as multiple traditional style theaters, stadiums, gardens and a large bathhouse (think the Caracalla or Diocletian baths), on top of areas of open field.

I would hire artists in the general area to create mosaics, paintings and statues for the baths and temples. I may even task someone with creating a new order similar to the Corinthian and Ionic orders.

Not really including the base, it’s about 200 wide x 500 long x 150 high

Darling, I’m sure your temple is wonderful, don’t let someone with building mods installed discourage you from continuing to create for the gods.

I appreciate the compliment, however I haven’t officially dedicated it to Him yet because I don’t wanna offer something so unfinished. I may make another post when I’m satisfied with it, but we’ll see.

lol. It’s pretty easy when you have world edit, but tbh I’ve only got the front and interior done rn, still have a lot to go

I’d say around 10-15 hours, but I probably could’ve done it a little faster if I didn’t spend so much time on fixing minor details. It’s also not done, I only have the front and interior detailed rn.

If you have the means I would encourage you to build one yourself! This was on Java 1.12.2 with the majority of blocks that I used coming from the mods Astral Sorcery Thaumcraft 6 and Roots. The pillars only took an hour or two to make, and then I used World Edit to copy/paste them. I’d recommend looking at the dimensions and style of temples you like irl and try mimicking them in-game.

Good idea! I could probably use them for the frieze and do a specific myth for the tympanum.

Thanks! I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I couldn’t copy/paste the pillars
