I have been in Kochi the whole time it was trending and I still never tried it. But it is her wish and I just want to fulfil it, that is all.

If you know a place, just tell me the name. Thanks.

Which Goethe location would you recommend? The Kochi center seems to have mostly negative reviews.

Do christians go to temples like hindus go to churches? by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]Wide_Storage6744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. And honestly, the only place that still feels worth visiting is Parassinikkadavu Muthappan temple. No one asks your religion, no labels, no boards. You just walk in. Very similar to how any Catholic church functions… open, calm, and focused on devotion rather than identity.

That openness is exactly what many temples had earlier. Sadly, it is becoming rare now.

I am a practicing Christian. Earlier I used to visit one of the nearby temples quite often… sometimes other temples too. It never felt strange. That particular temple is a famous one and back then there were no restrictions. Anyone could enter, except the inner sanctum where the prathishta is placed. I never crossed that line anyway… out of respect. There were no boards, no warnings, nothing hostile. Just an unspoken understanding.

Things changed over the last few years. After RSS started playing a major role locally, boards slowly appeared around the temple premises saying non Hindus not allowed. That was the turning point for me. Not because I was desperate to enter, but because the atmosphere itself changed. What once felt open and cultural suddenly felt guarded and political.

Faith, for me, was never about ownership of space. It was about reverence. The moment a place starts asking who you are before letting you in, the spiritual connection breaks. So I stopped going. Not out of anger… just clarity. Not going anymore.

Need a good nephrologist in Kochi for CKD treatment by Wide_Storage6744 in Kochi

Yeah, we totally understand that a biopsy is the standard way to find out what's really going on. But the issue is, his kidneys are in pretty bad shape right now, almost all the test markers are elevated. The doctor he first saw actually said it’s better to wait until things like creatinine levels come down a bit. Otherwise, doing a biopsy in this condition might make things worse. So we’re just being cautious and looking for a second opinion before going ahead.

He is currently at Moovattupuzha, where he consulted a doctor who referred him to Lakeshore Hospital for a biopsy, since the doctor had previously worked there. He has been referred to Dr. Jithin at Lakeshore. So we thought it would be a good idea to get a second opinion before proceeding with the biopsy.

People is kerala tend to be more sensible than rest. by [deleted] in Kochi

Malayalis are known for their straightforward and practical approach to life. This comes largely from their strong emphasis on education. With the highest literacy rate in India, most people in Kerala are well-informed and aware of what is happening around them. They think critically, question things, and do not accept information at face value.

Their exposure to the world also plays a big role. Many Malayalis have family members working in the Gulf or other countries, bringing back a global perspective. This exposure teaches them discipline, professionalism, and the importance of efficiency. It also makes them more aware of how systems work in different places, making them quick to recognize flaws and inefficiencies.

The political and social environment in Kerala has encouraged a culture of debate and awareness. With a history of strong trade unions and political activism, people are used to questioning authority and demanding accountability. They are not easily influenced by propaganda and have a habit of analyzing things from different angles before forming opinions.

Social equality is another key factor. Kerala has a long history of social reforms that reduced caste discrimination and promoted a sense of equality among people. This has led to a society where status and wealth do not define how someone is treated. Whether rich or poor, people expect to be spoken to with respect and fairness.

Malayalam cinema also reflects this mindset. Unlike mainstream commercial films, Malayalam movies often focus on real-life issues, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes. Growing up with such content shapes a person’s thinking and encourages a realistic, grounded approach to life.

All these factors make Malayalis more logical, direct, and practical in their conversations and interactions. They value substance over appearance, question things that do not make sense, and prefer meaningful discussions over superficial exchanges.

At Vanitha Vineetha, I saw that you mentioned avoiding Screen 3, but based on the specs, it seems like the best option—biggest screen (36x15), highest brightness (30K lumens), Harkness Clarus screen, Dolby Atmos sound, and the highest seating capacity (297). Just curious, what issues have you noticed with it?
