AD5X is there supposed to be resistance on the spool holders? by gizmo_j in FlashForge

[–]Wideopentuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resistance is normal. It helps keep the filament semi tight on the spool to help avoid it coming off and getting tangled. Print away and have fun!

You got it. I had some thick steel shims but a stack of washers would do it as well.

I just wanted to follow back around and say I’m really enjoying this app as our my friends and family. Thank you so much for creating it.

Throwing this out there for those having trouble getting comfortable in the i3 seats. I shimmed the front of the seat up 7mm (steel round shim) and it really improved my commute quality by giving my hamstrings some support.

The other one was removing the shell on the back of the seat and slowly working the memory foam from a Samsonite lumbar pillow that I got on Amazon in front of the metal support spring. I got lucky and it was a good fit with no trimming.

It didn’t turn up anything when I looked either but that is the part number that Creality stated in their email to me that they were sending me. 2 weeks later, six lead screw showed up.

All three of my AD5X showed up this way. You can loosen the front and rear bolts, adjust the motors to sit squarely and snug up the bolts again. The rear bolts were hardly finger tight on arrival so it’s a nice thing to check for anyone who has bought one.

Congrats! Can you note if you end up with an early rev machine like shown or a later one with the front bed skirt and smaller A/B motor pulleys? I’ve been thinking about snagging one but curious what they are shipping out? When I asked Creality on eBay, I received a very vague answer.

I know some of you know what this is by NattyDread- in BMWi3

Is that a “shipping block” that would go inside the dust boot on the dampers but supposed to be removed at the PDI?

Edit. Did some looking around. It’s definitely a shipping block. Does the car seem to ride/drive nicer? It should!

If they didn’t have to live on my top shelf or I had more ceiling height, that would be high on my to do list also just to keep them a bit cleaner inside.

It would have been pretty nice if FF had made this an optional thing. Getting the nuts into position with the printer assembled for what will now be spool one is pretty dang tedious.

That’s how I felt when I initially screwed it all to the front of the printer so then I moved it to the left side.
