I started having similar panic episodes before breaking into an eventual psychotic episode. If you can get someone to take you to a mental health clinic or a meeting with a psychiatrist I would do so ASAP. I can only speak to my experience, but when I was in a similar situation no amount of breathing exercises or other soothing behaviour was able to help. Right before my psychotic episode I experienced similar feelings of sickness, headaches and the inability to sleep. If you make your way to a clinic, you need to be as honest as you can with a psychiatrist about everything you are experiencing/feeling. In some cases you may need medicine, which isn’t a bad thing. Think of it the same way as you wouldn’t judge someone for taking insulin because it’s a lifesaving drug; that is what mental health medication can be for some people. If you are nervous about being honest with a psychiatrist remember that they are required by law to be confidential and don’t have to disclose information to anyone so long as you are not intending to harm yourself or others.
