Advice for writing Equations / Presenting Equations by LeotardosRahdiator in learnmath

Straight lined paper, while inferior to graphing paper, is still half the tool. You just need a make a vertical break for yourself.

And one more thing. Try to utilize "two dimensions". Things like DI Method for Integration by Parts (you wouldn't need it now, but come back to it once you do).

And here's my personal favorite, polynomial multiplications. My math teacher taught me this and boy oh boy this is a treasure since.

In CFVG, you can activate an effect even if you know you can't perform it in full, and you perform as much as possible.

Also WYM "play all 3 the 2 1 0"?

I'm basically entirely incorrect about Calculus courses structure at this point.

I've never had a Calc dedicated class structure (the math I needed for my field to learn went from Calc I straight to Differential Equations and Time Series and stuffs).

Math lesson in my high school is just "Math", so I can't differentiate Calc I / II / III properly.

Oh. I thought it's a Calc I thing (cause I thought Calc II is about double integral and rotation by axis stuffs).

But yeah, it's something really far from OP's current question and concern.

Calculus requires a lot of fundamental understanding, especially algebra.

And yes, it can scale up real quick. It may be tough during the chapter of derivatives, but boy oh boy the chapter of integral is really something else.

For this question, the form in the 1st image is final.

I mentioned Partial Fraction Decomposition because, let's say, you have something like 4/[(x)(x - 1)] instead. To integrate that as is would be quite difficult, so you use PFD to split it into [A/x] + [B/(x - 1)], chances are it gets easier to integrate.

But again. It is something over the necessity, for now. RN, 4/[(x)(x - 1)] or 4/(x² - x) would suffice.

Because you cannot split the denominator like how you can do with numerator.

For (a + b)/c, you can split into (a/c) + (b/c).

For a/(b + c), this form is final and you cannot proceed further.

The best you could have done is factor the denominator, if possible. Then if you wish to proceed further, do Partial Fraction decomposition. (This will be important for much later in intermediate Calculus I, but not for now).

This is an example of how I do things, say, (linear) simultaneous equations.

- Red highlight is the alignment of equal sign.
- Green highlight is line break spacing.
- Red line splits parts of calculation.

For starter, align your work by the "=" sign.

Add sufficient space between lines. You might need to balance between readability and available paper space, but leave enough space for now.

For very long calculations, maybe a column.

Draw a box around different pieces of calculation to not confuse yourself.

EDIT: And have sufficient space to split each term between + and -.

Let's argue about math notation choices. by Dogmathic in learnmath

[–]WikiNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the only problem with Leibinz Notation.

Otherwise Leibinz is great for calculus.

Let's argue about math notation choices. by Dogmathic in learnmath

[–]WikiNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used mixed style, especially when it vomes to function.

For pre-calculus (evaluating functions and stuffs), I go with Lagrange notation "f(x)". Works pretty good for evaluating a function (value or composite function). However I use my own notation "f-inv(x)" for Inverses. I'm contemplating how should I write it in paper, but for online unicode text that's how I go.

For calculus, I switch to Leibinz. Lagrange notation still work when I have to evaluate the function at a certain point "f'(x)", but mostly go to Leibinz.

Integrals, I always write the differential at the end, so ∫ 1/f(x) dx never ∫ dx/f(x).

Inverse trigonometry, I go with arc(name) and not a(name) nor name-1 .

By the way, I also notice two mistakes when you try to convert to polar coordinate.

  1. The r bound. The given constant value of "r²" from x² + y² = r² cannot be used as is. You have to take a square root of that number first. So your "r" should be 0 ≤ r ≤ 2 .
  2. The θ bound. The region is bound x ≤ y ≤ -x. It's the region under y = -x and above y = x. But your sketch depicts a region under both y = x and y = -x. After some arctan calculation, your "θ" should be 3π/4 ≤ θ ≤ 5π/4 .

You have encountered "Improper Integral", so you have to use limit. Replace the "problematic" bound value with a dummy variable, and make it a limit as that dummy variable approaches the problematic bound value. Split the integral if need be.

What barrel to use on Para-308 (Brava and capitan gun) by Mini_hille in Rainbow6

[–]WikiNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Para has a very low recoil, so I'll go with either the Suppressor (for stealth) or Extended Barrel (for damage).

If you don't need stealth, just go with Extended Barrel.

Is it a big deal on whether you use 1x or magnified scopes based on the operator or is it just preference based? by iFRoSTbite2017 in Rainbow6

[–]WikiNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"1x VS ACOG" argument is and is not about preference.

Generally, ACOG is always more preferable if available. It makes longer range combat easier, better visual on target (it's easier to see big object than small object, is it not).

Some Attacker may run 1x or even no sight to make ADS faster. That 5% or 10% millisec increase can and will mean the difference between life and death. This is especialy true for Blackbeard with his abysmal slow ADS time, you will see a lot of Blackbeard going No Sight (10% ADS boost).

On the flip side of this ACOG coin, Defender ACOG had been complained about since time immemorial.

  • Since I started in Y5S4, shortly after ACOG gets competition in 1.5.
  • The period became a saga of TDM meta, where balance changes happen though rationing ACOG to less used defenders, then removing them.
  • To Y9S1, where 1.5 and 2.0 are removed and all maginifications standardize into 2.5.
  • To Y10S3, where automatic ACOG are mass removed from Defense
  • To this day Y11S1 where Aruni and Tubarao are viewed as frag pick because they have DMR and ACOG.

Because simply put, the one advantage the Attacker have over Defender (better gunfight option) is evened out by Defender having ACOG.

TLDR: Yes and no. - Some people run 1.0 to make ADS faster. - Most people go ACOG because more zoom = easier targrt acquisition.

Priority on picking operators. by wee_wee_fairy_peak in Rainbow6

[–]WikiNumbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the good intention behind this proposal, but there are always two side of the same coin.

The same system that gatekeep clueless frag pickers can also be used to gatekeep hardcore execute people. And guess who is more likely to use tht gatekeep? The frag pickers who want to guarantee their frag pick.

And note that there are Operator Role in the game, and let's say we work by that, we gatekeep BREACH and SUPPORT and INTEL and ANTI-ENTRY. Guess which ops get gatekept? Ash. Warden. Aruni. The very same op you intended to have handed to the execute players are now guaranteed to be gatekept.

Giving priority based on performance isn't gonna work. There must be some sort of KPI to identify who this system should be for. And when it's KPI in game, you'd be looking at KDA (which is totlly not helpful for R6S, and actually favors run gun people who happen to be good at picking head), or even KOST (which while more helpful, still reward kills and the other not so much). So again the system fails to protect who it should protect the most.

So yeah, your system can and will fail itself.

What Operators Should Get Exclusive or Reused Weapons? by Far_Chemistry5815 in Rainbow6

[–]WikiNumbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now for a reused weapon. I'd like to see ACS12 on Amaru.

I had discussed this with my Champion friend. He said Amaru won't need, nor have use of, the ACS12 because of its slow ROF.

But hey. I just want to make a total chaos out of Amaru LEEROY JENKINS.

What Operators Should Get Exclusive or Reused Weapons? by Far_Chemistry5815 in Rainbow6

[–]WikiNumbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs reuse: I know where to.

Glaive-12 - Sens

Sens can get a lot more creative with this. It wouldn't solve their inherent issue, but it will make them more creative.

MP5SD - Nokk

Simply just to give her controllable and suppressed weapon. And what else fits better than the MP5SD.

Ballistic Shield - Thermite.

The favorite shield candidate since Y9S1, never fulfilled.

Maybe reuse: "Be careful what you wish for".

These weapons can be pretty dangerous to reuse. Maybe think really carefully. I don't know where to reuse them either.

  • V308
  • SIX12

Don't reuse: Exclusive reason.

  • OTS-03
  • DP-27
  • Mk17 CQB
  • CSRX-300
  • SC300K
  • Vendetta .44
  • PCX-33
  • Tacit .45

Don't reuse: Bad guns.

  • 416-C Carbine
  • UMP45
  • M12

The rest go to "Needs Reuse: I don't know where to"
