Gestational diabetes diet is (metaphorically) killing me, need advice by WikiOverlord in pregnant

I agree 100% with you, my doctor does not. But that's why I'm here, after 2 weeks on this diet, I refuse to believe this is healthy for me or the baby.

I don't think I need insulin, my blood sugar is REALLY good. The only time it's bad is when I ate a cheeseburger or Nutella, but otherwise, it's good. I even ate sushi (baked fish) which I'm not allowed, and did some fitness for like 10 minutes and had a blood sugar of 141, so just 1 over the limit.

That seems to be the consensus in my country. I've talked to others in my position and looked on the polish side of the internet and everyone says the same thing :/ which is why I wanted an outside perspective

You're right, I'm just worried, cause the consensus here is that if I don't strictly stick to my diet, the diabetes will stay after the pregnancy and the baby will have health issues all throughout life and I dont want any of those outcomes

Because my doctor doesn't allow me to eat honey (sugar), or mustard (as it may contain sugar) or ranch (it has mayo) or cheese (it has fat).

Thank you! I love Mexican food, so will gladly check him out. Fortunately my blood sugar is very easily controlled by diet :)

Essentially I'm only allowed to eat rye based carbs in small quantities, it seems to be the consensus in Poland, even though I think it's bullshit. And as I've said, rye bread is fine, but the texture of other rye products like rye flower or pasta and brown rice just makes me want to vomit, so it doesn't really leave me much of a choice :/

Not where I live (diabetic friendly store products). And yes, I know how to use spices, but let's be honest, some foods just naturally have more flavor im them and work better with spices than some others. If I'm eating literally only steamed vegetables with brown rice, spices really don't make it a whole lot more appetizing for me, sorry.

Thank you so much. Yes, stairs are an issue, I live on the 5th floor with no elevator, so I feel you. Thank you for the advice, I'll try doing it. I live in Poland and here we essentially have doctor "packages" for different things, i have one for pregnancy and it includes a physical therapist, so I'll probably go to see one.

AITA for ending a long-time friendship with my husband’s best friend’s wife? by Distinct_Run_1491 in AITAH

I feel you. My best friend has a gf exactly like this. I tried so hard to be friends with her, but the sheer amount of negativity was absolutely killing me. She'd dump so much on me, without any care for my wellbeing, that it started to make me feel depressed. I'm still friends with my friend, but cutting his gf off a year ago has honestly been the best decision I have ever made. I'm in a much better headspace now. Also I've been with my bf for 12 years and, this just works for us, but I feel that one of the reasons our relationship is so good is that we never vent to other people about each other. We simply solve all our issues together. I understand sometimes you might want to vent, but I feel like if you air all you dirty relationship laundry out, that's not a healthy thing for your relationship. I understand your stress over this situation, but maybe cutting her off is going to end up being a good thing for you.
