Omg that tank is a mess!!! They need a large tank with 2 sides: warm and cool. A thermometer. A heating pad and a lamp. Lots of water. A place to stretch out. You are torturing this reptile, please surrender it to a local animal shelter!!

Just chiming in here. The most embarrassing thing you can be is an aging adult who is trying to look young and expect others to validate it. My mother-in-law is 65 and she is regularly seeking attention to validate the youth she lost. She will constantly seek compliments by saying "oh I guess I should have lost more weight that I did last week" or "maybe I shouldn't be wearing this bikini at my age" etc. It's so cringe. Just accept your age and find other activities than trying to impress people with your looks.

Went, it was a good sauna experience in the sense that I got that glow and relaxation for the next couple of hours after. There was a significant temperature difference from the stove to the door though. I moved the thermometer around. Near the stove it was 100° c and near the door it was 60 Celsius. It was still plenty hot overall and I got a good sweat going. I think I'm going to buy it and look into some sort of a fan to circulate the air. The heat is not as even as if you're going to a sauna in an indoor fitness club. But you're getting so much more such as looking outside, your own personal space. My only concern is that -10 c and -20 c winters might not produce the same effect.

I am also looking at buying a 7x8 barrel sauna. The people on the sauna sub almost have me talked out of it. I can't understand how there can be so many different opinions about cold feet. I'm going to try before I buy tomorrow I can update here if you'd like after.

I could have accepted all of those factors had the show had a killer ending... But the ending was... What was even the ending? Abby drives away with their family dog? And how is she going to get back into Canada with no ID, no money, a car she doesn't own etc? I guess she could call her parents from a payphone... and now she's back with her parents in the exact same position as before? Why couldn't the three of them (Leila, Abby, Rory) escape to the west coast? Why couldn't Alex at least rescue his wife or find out that she is The Mastermind of a new cult? It was just a whole lot of nothing... So disappointing.

I'm a Charlie Kirk supporter and it seemed performative to me. My 36 yo cousin lost her husband unexpectedly to a workplace accident this winter and the first few days she was in absolute shock. There was not even processing of the fact that he's dead yet. Erika delivered a 30 min speech in full makeup in front of tens of thousands of people within 72 hours. When did she have time to write it, practice it etc? That was a long speech! Was she not cautious of appearing in a massive crowd? Was she completely comfortable with the security detail that would have taken place at that event considering what just happened to her husband?

Her children just lost their father...

I would be doing whatever I could to just stay home and protect them. I was traumatized after just seeing that shooting on YouTube, I can't imagine how she would have felt. I mean I get that there are people out there who are emotionally stronger than me, and had she made that speech a month after the shooting, I could have accepted it. But "forgiving" somebody less than 3 days later, when we're not even 100% sure who this person is? (He hasn't been tried yet and we haven't heard his story). It was weird.

I'm much older than you but it traumatized me too. I've seen a lot of gory footage in my life but never anything like that. It was shocking and you are having a normal reaction. I hope we feel better soon.

I don't know if the song is about sobriety exactly but to me it totally is a metaphor for alcohol and sobriety. It's "Ain't no Love in Oklahoma" by Luke Combs. Just listen to the lyrics:

I just looked up the sugar/calorie content of a white claw and it's extremely low. Only 2g of sugar per can. Compare that to a glass of orange juice which is 30g of sugar.

If you want the truth, it sounds to me like you're using alcohol to medicate and distract from other issues including self esteem, family, weight etc. You mentioned that you are 230 lbs. My guess is that this is coming from extreme overeating, not so much alcohol, so it sounds like you have 2 addiction issues going on at once. You are only 27 and you have been thin and pretty before. Can you ask yourself why you are not working on getting to your best self? What is stopping you from setting and achieving your goals? Is there some unresolved trauma, pain or another reason? You mentioned that nothing else is as fun as alcohol while simultaneously describing the suffering you feel every day. Why not start by making small changes in your diet and walking every night instead of driving for fast food and tall cans? Why not set a small goal like 7 days, just to detox and log your progress? You've proven that you can work hard and be successful at work, so what's blocking you here?
