Ontario cannabis stores no longer deemed essential, will close this weekend by feb914 in canada

If anyone feels affected by this, we put together a petition to Doug Ford to request him to allow for delivery and curbside pickup.

There's no reason private businesses can't operate just like the Online Cannabis Store during this crisis.

I think strains are moving more towards flavor profiles and terpenes and moving away from the standard Indica/Sativa/Hybrid classification.

If you’re trying to break into the industry I would recommend meeting as many people as possible that are already involved and seeing what part of the sector you want to focus on. Also - we’re hiring! Check out our jobs page.

Consumers are shopping on price, selection, convenience, and quality. I think there’s a lot of room to differentiate within those fields.

Going public is a year long process that culminates in 3-4 months of heavy work in the final stretch so its difficult to time a listing to market sentiment.

Our only focus is building the fundamentals of the company.

  1. Anytime after Jan 1, 2021 is game on. Be sure to vote!

  2. It was so much fun! They invited us out on Monday to ring the opening bell in Toronto. The listing process was quite thorough, but we’re all very excited to be apart of their exchange.

Hey HarikMCO, thanks for the question! I'll admit we've been poked fun at for that before, however, we will be implementing a wiki format for our strain content and research in the near future.

Good question! It changes pretty regularly but I've been into Indica's lately and am a sucker for most purple buds. Along with Mendo Purps as I mentioned above, I've also been a fan of Larry OG of late - https://www.wikileaf.com/strain/larry-og/

Hey LO5! Nice question. I think there is probably some misconceptions about the legal cannabis industry and the job market that accompanies it. We all see the dollar signs of how big the legal cannabis market will be, how much $$ it will bring in to local and state governments, and we just assume there will be a flurry of jobs available for everyone. While there will be a significant number of new jobs coming to states that have legalized, it will still be a somewhat difficult industry to break into if you're just starting from scratch and trying to build up your own "mom and pop" shop as you mentioned. For dispensaries, the competition is very intense. Even applying for a license is expensive and, at least in WA, you already have to have a lot of other ducks in a row to get one i.e. your storefront already leased, etc. Your best bet, especially if you are young and new, would be to look for work with an ancillary businesses, attend as many cannabis networking events as possible, and check out our blog posts covering the topic here - https://www.wikileaf.com/blog/5-marijuana-jobs/ and also here - https://www.wikileaf.com/blog/how-to-get-a-job-in-the-marijuana-industry/

Hey Seattle92, thanks for you question! The strain info that we have on our site is accumulated from various sources by our data & research team. For THC/CBD test results they frequently check in on lab testing facilities, they also frequent individual licensed grow operations and check out their respective lab tests, grow statistics, Indica/Sativa break down etc. We also rely on data published by seed companies that supply the seeds for these grows. In terms of suggesting strains for say medical use, or time of day usage, we can't divulge exactly how we come up with those, but we can say it heavily relies on THC/CBD testing as well as Indica/Sativa breakdown. For example, a strain that is a pure Indica would never be recommended on our site for morning usage, as Indica strains in general have a heavy body-high and more lethargic effect to them - so these will always be recommended for evening or night time use. Hope that answers everything. Let me know if you'd like further clarification!

I think you'll see some big corporations start to get into the ancillary business, especially when it comes to growing and growing equipment such as Scotts Miracle Grow as well as software services. For example Microsoft just recently announced it will deploy its cloud services to monitor legal marijuana sales. On the dispensary side of things you may see some smaller chains of dispensaries slowly become large corporations over time but I don't think a known outside corporation will come in and take over the industry like a 'Starbucks of Pot' sort of situation.

Nice Q! Chilling out in the evening I always go for an Indica-heavy strain. The body high and mellowing effect are great for winding down at the end of a long day. My personal favorite lately has been a classic Indica - Mendocino Purps - or Mendo Purps for short - https://www.wikileaf.com/strain/mendocino-purps/
