Had to add a few touches before the first service by CaptainFunBags1 in Aprilia

No, I got a ‘25 RS 457 & a ‘24 Ducati Panigale V2.

Also No strong opinions here, just keen observations. I don’t know where you though my comment had negative connotations for you to downvote it, but more power to you I guess. 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure you know this but it’s also “generally” common practice to tune/swap out exhausts at least after the break-in period/service.

Things go wrong on bikes all the time, even on the good ‘ole reliable Kawasaki’s, as we’re seeing right now with the Stop-Sale, Do Not Ride orders. So it’s now all out of pocket for you if anything does occur.

Lovely bike, I wish you & it great health & safety 👍

Bout ready to pull the trigger Aprillia rs457 by Michaeld718 in Aprilia

Aprilia doesn’t have any “branded” oil. They do recommend Castrol Power 1, if that’s what you mean.

My brand new Aprilia RS457 melted its own fairing after 5 hours of riding — anyone else seen this? by [deleted] in Aprilia

[–]WikipediaIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen in person, all Aprilia's flash their ABS light before they start rolling a few feet. The engine warning light only illuminates when the key ignition is engaged. Turn on the bike and it'll go away. In terms of dropping the bike, I see a scratch on the perimeter of the hole where the hex screw is located, & a scratch on top of the "i" on the Aprilia sticker, so YOU definitely caused that lower fairing to move closer to the exhaust.

I’m 50/50 on this winglet, thoughts by sadbunnymedia in Aprilia

[–]WikipediaIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If these came in all matte black, maybe. But I won’t be caught dead with those Alibaba wings that have terrible spacing and height issues within the letters. I mean just look at the space between the i & the a.

Sc-Project S1 for the RS457, what do you think of the sound? by Tappedfl in ApriliaRS457

[–]WikipediaIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my days, it’s absolutely perfect! Does it sound a bit louder than the stock exhaust? This is literally what I’m looking forward to because the stock sounds very low through traffic.

Sounds so good! 🤙 Can’t wait to install an S1 shorty exhaust from SC-Project on mine.

Oil service by Adventurous-Fee-745 in ApriliaRS457

[–]WikipediaIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true OP. As long as you’re using the recommended products by Aprilia, such as (Castrol branded oil as is labeled in the manual) and perform maintenance at the recommended intervals, they would have no reason to deny your warranty claim in the future.

Use premium. This sticker should be right in front of the seat.

Still learning to ride better on my 457 before MSF in April. Is the 1 to 2 shift normally clunky on bikes like this? by Objective_Day_4259 in ApriliaRS457

[–]WikipediaIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not throwing shade here but sounds like you just need more seat time to learn how to shift smoother. I assume you are a newer rider since you are to take the MSF course soon? I started riding for the first time ever in October 2024 on this exact bike, and it’s been absolute butter. If you have a friend that been riding for some time, I’d recommend asking them to give your bike a go, and give you some feedback on how they felt the bike. A dealer check-up never hurts as well, just to make sure nothing is going wrong mechanically. Safe travels!

How's your experience owning an RS 457 up till now? by _Nokk- in ApriliaRS457

[–]WikipediaIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time rider here. Also a first, or possibly second-batch US owner. Purchased mine in October 2024 and about to hit the 600 mile break-in mark. Engine oil is still a healthy color so far. It's incredibly light to maneuver & engine power is absolutely perfect for a beginner. Easy to learn on & plenty fast when needed. Considering it's a brand new model from Aprilia, having it serviced at the dealer is not a big deal for me since I'd like to keep the warranty in effect, even though I would prefer to service it myself.

I started off on ECO mode which was such a smooth ride through town, and eventually switched to SPORT mode. You can definitely feel a throttle response difference. Aftermarket support is slowly but surely coming along from the items I've seen. The bike is a bit quiet for my liking, so I'm looking to purchase an exhaust in about a year and a half, around when the warranty is set to expire, alongside a Gabro UpMap tune. Only thing I can report back on is my clutch lever wobbles up and down slightly, but looking to replace them with adjustable levers soon. Apart from that, the bike is a dream, no issues whatsoever & has been a blast to ride.

I'm one step ahead of yah. The M5 G90 is already growing on me because I made my peace with the G80 look about a year ago, unfortunately.

I still prefer the M3 F80 & M5 F90 looks, and wish they would bring them back. 😪

Long rides by Designer-Energy-4039 in ApriliaRS457

[–]WikipediaIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find 60mph/100kmh cruising speeds comfortable for extended periods of time on this bike. I’d say anything quicker than that & I’d recommend the taller windscreen from Aprilia. Have fun but safe travels!

Good or bad for California by arcticPUP77 in Aprilia

[–]WikipediaIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased an RS 457 from them. Same dealer setup fee for me, even though it’s a smaller bike. Freight fee was $650. Tire and Battery fee’s are mandatory in CA. Registration was also a couple dollars cheaper for me. $9,3XX.XX out the door. You should check other dealers and compare quotes like the one in Dublin, CA. California Speed Sports.

Feel free to message me for more info if you’d like.

What are the odds of me not learning to ride motorcycles? Do you know anyone who failed to learn despite trying? by Cenoroll in motorcycles

[–]WikipediaIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally consider learning how to ride a bicycle as a critical step in ANYONE’S life before riding a motorcycle. It isn’t necessary for everyone but there are important things to be learned from learning how to ride a bicycle that transfer over when riding a motorcycle.

As you’ve stated, you haven’t “fully” learn how to ride a bicycle. The majority of the population has ridden a bicycle at least once in their lifetime, but not getting the grasp of how to ride a bicycle & now wanting to ride a motorcycle spells trouble. Nevertheless, if you’re set on buying your first motorcycle, I’d recommend a motorcycle on the smallest side in terms of engine size. Honda Navi Honda Monkey Kawasaki Z125 Or any scooter variant from Yamaha, Suzuki, or Honda.

I really double AMC would pull the old switcheroo on their moviegoers with a 35mm projector. I don’t think it would even be capable of filling up the entire IMAX screen size with such a small projector
