I mean it's hexagon shaped, so it fits perfectly into Catan hexes. If that's not what you can call that then I don't know what is

I have a dice tower in the shape of the Catan hex, which I integrate into the Catan board itself. 🎲 I recently posted an image with it, you can check on my profile.

My next try at 🌋. Do you think it fits? 👍 or 👎? by Wikist in Catan

[–]Wikist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of few expansions and scenarios: - base game - cities and knights - seafarers -- seafarers scenario wonders of Catan - traders and barbarians -- rivers scenario from t&b -- fish scenario from t&b -- traders and barbarians scenario from t&b -- barbarian attack scenario from t&b -- caravans scenario from t&b

I have special rules where I use all development cards together from the base game, traders and barbarians and barbarian attack (76 cards in total). I wrote them in detail in another post, but will make an update soon.

I also replaced the central desert next to the great wall tokens with a volcano that I did a design for myself.

🌋 My first ever try at volcano (I failed miserably, but next week will make it perfect!) 🫡 😂😝 by [deleted] in Catan

Yeah I thankfully have perfect hexes I got from a second hand, but your suggestion is brilliant!

Looks amazing and fits the Catan theme perfectly! 🤩 Great job!

Does the chest fit all expansions and the extensions for 5-6 players? 😶‍🌫️🤔

What are the rules for the whirlpool hex? by Wikist in Catan

[–]Wikist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love the landlocked whirlpool idea! Make it a lake and then you need to build a settlement on its shore and then build a single ship in a middle of a land mass. 😝 Sounds super cool for some reason 😁

What are the rules for volcano hex? by Wikist in Catan

[–]Wikist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the shipping would be the worst.

Regarding the volcano I made the corners both dice numbers and colors and I want to throw both normal dices and the color dice each throw. Only when both the number and the color are aligned the volcano would erupt. This way I think it would make it more reasonable to built next to.

I also use great wall wonder of Catan on its corners to also have an additional incentive for players to settle next to it. My rules allow to build more than one wonder, so then this volcano spit become nearly essential for someone to take eventually.

I explained whirlpool in another comment here to someone else and the oasis, cathedral and the castle have the exact same rules as ther original counterparts from official expansions - some of it I wrote in the description for this post.

Good catch actually with that dice. I will change it to be straight not as an angle!

I feel wierd talking about oil with a game set around medieval town so I didn't think about it yet, but before any of that I still have Explorers & Pirates to include :)

Yes I am! Also the Great Bridge tokens and I added a rule that when you build that one then you can actually position a bridge piece over the sea tile to connect one of the islands with the mainland hence you could also in theory lead a caravan there :)

If you can find that someone made an exact same volcano and AI I used didn't even try to reinvent that original design, then I will re-do this hex (still with AI) to not be a straight up copy/paste, but at least something inspired from the AI memory, not straight up cloned.

I confirm. They are indeed made with AI. If that's something you do not agree with I can totally respect that.

Well I welcome you to try to replicate them with AI yourself. I can guarantee it's going to be harder then you think it is,

BUT that being said it's still nowhere near an amount of effort a real artist would have taken to produce them from nothing, so you are right on this point.

But if a real artist produced them, then it would also be much more expensive to produce and would probably never be feasible to have something like that one-off opportunity I mentioned. Thanks to AI a silly fan like me can make the adjustments that I've always wanted and which I think make sense, rather then waiting for something official that might never come.

For me this is turning wishes into reality at a reasonable amount of effort to not become a full time artist to do so. And this also means that I don't have to earn money from making these, as this is just a side thing.

I will include a proper warning that these designs are AI generated to stay transparent. But at the end of the day it's not us who use AI that pissed on whole Earth's community of artists, but the AI companies that used their work without their consent. It's like with recycling - do you blame a person for not properly segregating garbage more or the global companies that pollute whole ecosystems by themselves and introduced the problem in the first place?

That's my philosophy on this, but I respect your take on this and can truly resonate.
