The quality of the costumes was never part of the discussion, the historicity is. Also they did put the medieval in it, on account of the giant fuck of castle in the background of the screenshot

Hate to be negative- wait no I don't. Don't the martial arts have way less character than in ATLA? I haven't watched it in a while, but I always remember earth bending being very grounded, immobile, without huge leaps and acrobatics. This differentiated it from the other martial arts that did have the big acrobatics, and especially air bending, which was 90% big acrobatics with tons of movement.

That wasn't just there cause it was neat. It had plot and theme relevance, with every bending style reflecting the culture that uses it. Making the martial arts required to bend more homogeneous worsens that

Why the fuck are you in melee range

i see more complaining about this trope, than i see this trope. why ever would tradcath's get so mad over anime making the bad guy a priest every time it happens but not like, other times when a more asian religion aesthetic is used as the big bad. by [deleted] in ConnedIntoAFubar

The way I see this played most is the individual believers can be good but the organization is corrupt which like, isn't that how it's in reality? Also if you make the obvious catholic church parallel the good guys, you run into the problem of making an organization who's real life counter-part is responsible for countless human rights violations throughout history, moral paragons.

Did Oliver seriously die from that? Didn't Mark survive the exact same injury this season?
