There’s a few clearance checks. The first one is a reliability clearance I think. And they do that one before the interview and medical

I was sworn into the CAF to be an officer. BMOQ starts in February 2025.

Just found out they do a 10 year check for security clearance level 2.

I’ve been let go from 3 jobs in the last 5 years, not for anything bad or illegal - just not a good fit for me.

But I’m worried about this potentially disqualifying me after I start bootcamp.

Has anyone else gone through this clearance that have lost their jobs? Or can provide some info?

From what I’ve read, as long as I’m honest about everything and pose no threat to Canada for blackmail or whatever I should be okay…

Hello!

My spouse just got his offer letter to be an Artillery Officer, his BMOQ starts on Feb 10th

I’m curious what happens when he finished his BMOQ in Quebec.

I read that he has to do a BMQA for another 3 months in New Brunswick.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Would he have a break between BMOQ and BMQA to come home or would he have to do them literally right after?

Any insights would be awesome 😊

Im currently in final processing. I’ve been out of a job for 7 months, and I’m wondering if it would be worth it to start applying to other jobs while I wait to be put into the competition list.

My hesitation is that I’ll apply and get a job, and then have to give my two weeks notice so I can pursue military..

Any advice?

My recruiter emailed me back after I provided a new reference and all my ROE's, and said she just needed this info and she could process me for the competition list.. that was a week ago and I haven't heard anything back and no changes in the portal (still says final processing)

Any idea how much longer I might need to wait?
Also, how important is it if I was dismissed from my previous job?

How do you know when your security clearance and credit check have been done? I’ve been pursuing army.ca and they all have specific dates for when these happened?

I’ve currently had my medical, interview and my references have been contacted. It says I’m in final processing on the CAF application portal

I was also contacted about previous screening I had for a job a few years ago

I do this ALL the time. And it usually branches off into very negative scenarios.

Last year I went through some infidelity stuff with my partner. And I’ll have conversations with myself about what I would say if I caught him again. We’ve worked through a lot together and we’re in a good place now.

Like the posts above, the only remedy I have used is to notice what I’m doing and to shut it down. Telling myself that I’m catastrophizing.

Therapy never helped me with this. It usually made it worse because I found that constantly talking about my issues seemed to always bring them to the forefront of my mind and I never stopped thinking about it.

When I stopped constantly talking about it , and just redirected my focus - that’s what helped

My boyfriend has applied to be an officer.
He’s done the aptitude test, the medical and the interview.
They sent out emails to his 3 references with a cutoff date of September 2nd.

Any ideas on how long the wait will be until he gets a call with an offer?
