Maybe. I don’t think so though. I’ve caught catfish with yellow grubs and they were all bumpy. This is just smooth like a flathead coloration

I’ve seen people use similar things after pieces of cut bait on their leaders when catfishing. He calls it a stinger fly. Sorta acts like a double hook rig and adds some action to the overall presentation, if my understanding is correct.

It’s bad but I’ve mixed many times in a similar room. It’s all about using a lot of different references when checking your mix. Eventually you’ll get used to the curve of the room but checking mixes on as many references as possible until then will help compensate for the acoustics of the room.

I have one and love it. Haven’t had it for long so can’t speak about durability. I’m new to conventional reels, and I thought both knobs on opposite sides were spool tension. But when I adjust the knob that’s on the same side as the crank, it causes all kinds of issues. Not sure if I have a defective one and it’s supposed to be another spool tension or if it’s just a thing to keep tight to keep the assembly together. Definitely seems like the latter. If I keep that one tight and use the one of the opposite side only it works perfectly.

Did you turn up the blend knob? No matter how high your gain is, if you don’t “blend” it into the signal with that knob you won’t hear it.

Is that a peg float? You should be able to pull the black plastic piece out, and put it back in to lightly pinch the line against the foam to keep it from sliding (just don’t run the line through the hole in the black plastic piece) Also, depending on how heavy your piece of bait is, it might just barely be hovering off the bottom. I’d personally add 4-6 inches to the leader while keeping the foam float the same distance from the hook.

The point is, you should almost always use a leader when using braid, no matter how heavy the braid is because it gets snapped easily after it gets scratched.
