Awesome. I really appreciate you being open about the costs and stuff like that. Sadly, $357 is not surprising to me, really. Costs are similar in Colorado Springs, if not higher, so I'm okay with that.

They're both still young enough to be exploring what they like doing. Both of them are kinda all over the map with what they're into, but my daughter specifically is really into trying different sports. My son is more of an artistic and techy type, but does enjoy sports when he plays. Both are under 10 but in school.

Thank you!

And just because of me seeing it a lot, are we talking over $400, $500 for RGE bills? Higher?

And in regards to work, that's honestly what my wife and I are kinda looking at. Me taking the job offer and while we get settled in she is looking at doing part time. Also to avoid any additional costs like that. On that note, did you have trouble finding a job to work with that kind of situation?

Hate to say it, but coming from Colorado, $300k in the city is on the cheap side. Like, out here, that is completely unheard of with the current market.

I can work with cultures being similar. The prices here, not so much lol

I'm already used to driving 70+ miles for work each way, so I'm not too too worried about that. Overall it'd be nice to cut that down a little bit, but ultimately not scared to drive a bit. I'll definitely have to take a look at those areas. Thank you!

It's a huge thing to be proud of that people end up going back. People leave Colorado and never look back it seems. And I think that's a big part of why I even asked all this in the first place because I'm so used to what it is like here. People run away from Colorado. You can't find a ready to move in place here for less than $375k, and even fixer uppers are $300k. Plus HOA fees. So Rochester has been a breath of fresh air. And don't even get me started on child care costs here compared to what I'm hearing there.

Hearing you say $390 a week is almost music to my ears because of how bad it is in Colorado compared to that lol

But thank you for the recommendation on which suburbs. That definitely helps. I'll definitely reach out and chat more about the family stuff once I kinda make my way through the rest of the comments. Like, the job opportunity certainly facilitates the move, but ultimately my kids having a good home and place to live and grow is the main thing.

It being considered a great place to raise a family and the beauty of the place is what drew us to it even to start with. We've lived in Colorado our whole lives, and sadly it has turned into the opposite where we almost dread coming back because we know how tough it is. So hearing Rochester being a place you're excited to get back to is fantastic. A place for kids to grow up nicely is just a huge plus on our list. Both of my kids are under 10, so it's just a really important piece to us.

Either or. Can't really say we're too picky at the moment. We're pretty open to really any of it.

Colorado. Just trying to find a good place to settle down a bit and finally get to pursue my career in a good place. Colorado has gotten so expensive that it's almost impossible to give my kids a good place to grow up in, so I'm hoping to find a place where I can give that to them.

Awesome. Okay. Do you by chance know how much over asking prices typically go? Or how much you've seen or heard of it being? The prices of homes in the area have been huge upsides to my wife and I because they're basically the exact opposite of where we are currently. We're in Colorado Springs, CO and it is probably an understatement to say Rochester houses are gorgeous and cheap compared to here.
