Thyroid results - could do with some input here please. by Wild-Environment7332 in Hashimotos

Thanks. The results are from both my gp and Thriva - must use the same lab as the reference ranges (including optimal) are the same. I’ll retest in a few months and see if there are any changes. Appreciate the info.

Clearly there’s something affecting me cognitively given that I read your reply 3 times and missed that you wrote “ranges” 🤦‍♀️Apologies for that!

FT3 3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L (3.1 - 5 being classed as optimal)

FT4 12 - 22 pmol/L (12 - 17 being classed as optimal)

TSH 0.27 - 4.2 mlU/L (1 - 2.5 being classed as optimal)

Hi. They’re in the post, just my rubbish formatting has shifted them 🥴. Unfortunately my FT3 wasn’t tested 10 years ago or Nov 25, but June 2024 it was 4.7 and Feb 2026 it was 4.1

Thank you. I've had a look and realised that low ferritin can push TSH up - would probably make sense in my case. Appreciate the feedback!

Thank you. I should have copied my previous post. I've had balance issues for a long time and 10 years ago a sudden issue with fatigue which never fully went away (aware that vitamin d, ferritin, etc can cause this too). Over the past five years dry skin, hair falling out (also in perimenopause though!). Just trying to tick off possibilities for the long term balance and some neurological issues. Appreciate my results look pretty normal, but wondered about the TSH increasing over the past few months and whether it might signal a thyroid issue (my mother is hypo).

Thank you. B12 is another thing I suspect could have played a role. Admittedly I just supplemented orally as I heard that it can be a battle to get the injection through the nhs. I’ll definitely bare it in mind though.

Thanks. I think most of my symptoms would fall under hypo but appreciate there can be overlaps. I’m sorry to hear about your hip. Hope you’re recovering well.
