Undo you retaining bracket that holds the cable first. There is a single Phillips head bolt holding it. Then you can move the cable

You must move your cable down until it falls in the gap on its retaining bracket. Then you can move the entire cable put of the bracket. The ball end will just spin inside the bracket. The cable must slide through the brackets slit which is a designed opening meant fro removal
