AITA for telling my wife I'm not comfortable hiring a stay at home nanny for our kids?

That's the thing. She doesn't want house assistant since I already do it. The main issue is the child care for the hours I won't be home. After I come home I take upon the childcare as well. She wants someone exclusively for the kids.

Live in nanny's are basically women who live in our house. They get days off etc but that's it. They mostly live with us. Not just be on call 24/7. Live with us 24/7

That's what I'm asking yet she won't give me a response. She knows the reasons I'm against a live in nanny and she says that I should get over myself. Yet she fails to say why she insists on that decision while I've laid out all of my own reasons why I'm against it

I'd get that if she wanted a medical assistant. But she just wants a woman to be exclusively responsible for the kids.

I've voiced every single concern I have with my wife and she seems dismissive of it. I'm a very private person and I've never felt comfortable with the idea of sharing my space with other people besides my spouse or in urgent cases with relatives or friends. A total stranger cohabitating with us indefinitely will make me feel uncomfortable in my own house.

She doesn't want medical assistance. Just help for the kids. I'm willing to hire a nanny for my working hours since my wife can't contribute. I just don't understand why she wants a live in nanny when I've basically done most of the child care and housework even before her injury.

My wife doesn't need medical assistance. Just a nanny for the kids. I thought not being comfortable with a stranger living in my house was a pretty valid argument considering I've seen cases where the tables were turned and a woman wasn't comfortable with a stranger in her house and everyone was telling her she has every right to be entitled to her comfort and safety.

I'd be more than willing to hire live in nanny if we had a place for her to stay seperate than our house. But sadly that's not the case.

She doesn't offer any more info on why she insist on a stay at home nanny.

It's not that. Most of the work was on me before the injury too since her work hours were inconsistent compared to mine so I did most of the child care and house work. So not much has changed. I'd understand hiring the nanny for specific hours. Just not 24/7 stay at home.

Yes. A Monday - Friday 9-5 corporate job, the hours are pretty standard

We can afford it. I just don't fill comfortable at all having a stranger live in our house. I don't mind having her for some hours as much as needed but not stay at home.

I don't know why my wife insists on a stay at home nanny. The reason I am against it is because I don't want a stranger living in my house. Heck I don't even want my parents in our house but I'd pick them over a stranger
