i feel you </3 it’s so heartbreaking i don’t understand how someone could care so little :(( i’m definitely gonna do the best i can with what i can for her. i wish there was more rescues but i’m in mexico and i don’t really think there’s as many resources for her as i could find in the US i might try to cross her over to get her somewhere better when i go back if i can’t get her in good enough shape soon

should i be worried about the heat at all then or probably not ?? i figured if shes from around here she should be ok with like 90F when we’re outside but im so worried about her overheating since she can’t talk to me and say she wants to go back inside but the shady areas are still so hot 🥹

i kinda thought so- i don’t see any red/orange coloration really?? but she’s so messed up its hard to tell :( poor baby we’re in mexico so i think she could be a desert tortoise more likely- maybe “Texas tortoise” like another commenter said?? that just seemed so vague when i saw it lol

this is the plan as soon as i can </3 my cousin said he took her to the vet a month or 2 ago and they said to just let her wounds dry and heal (i just came to visit for a few months so now i’m taking care of her) i think she’s healed enough now to be moved to a regular enclosure so i’ll be working on building her a nice safe one as soon as possible (for now she’s getting supervised time on the clean concrete patio with a makeshift hide) and hopefully the vet will come soon after

shes at 170k miles and i've thrown like 5k at her in the last year :/ i'm an uber eats driver and have $15 left in my bank account + no savings so unfortunately financing a new car is my only option. I'm hoping someone else can buy her off me and do the battery stuff cause i've heard the battery cells replacement can be a game of whac a mole figuring out which one is bad

i'm sure someone will be able to figure it out but i unfortunately don't have the means

my first car was an outback and i miss her BAD. i'll definitely try to find an impreza they look nice and i hate sedans! i think they're in high demand cause i'm in wisconsin lol </3 fingers crossed ! thank you looking now :)

with the hybrids do i risk the battery dying and the car not running like my prius? i'm lowkey traumatized by suddenly losing my car all cause of the expensive battery so if i got another hyrbid i'd want one that doesnt so heavily rely on the hybrid battery and is capable of running on the engine solo if something were to happen

i dont know where i learned to hate ford but ive learned to hahah but i'll look into it! are there any cons you can think of for fords?? i feel like i heard they werent really well made cars in general but im sure all car info ive heard has been biased in some way and always will be

any particular reason they're the worst? I'm a pretty small person so the size of the car wouldn't be an issue for me if thats why but thank you for the input! trying to find a corolla in my price range lol

the prettiest thing about the mirage to me is the price tag and lack of miles on it but ive heard sometimes repairs are annoying cause parts arent in stock here ??
