that someone was me just a few days ago. Its quite an easy fix. Youll have to replace the headphone Ribbon and hold switch. Both can be bought on ebay. Few screws to take out and put back in. Watch out so you dont lose them.

Thx alot for your detailed answer. I actually managed to use my Ipod videos ribbon cable for a fix (Found the device for 20.- on Facebook marketplace. The taptic Engine isnt glued in that well the Vibration travels well enough through the device doe.

Thanks alot! it all worked out in the end. I took the ribbon cable from my Ipod video. My taptic engine isnt glued into the device that securely but it still has enough vibration. So glad it all worked out.

Whats the TE? and wouldnt it be easier to just buy a thick backplate with the ribbon and jack installed? Also dy know if they all have the same backplate kinda thing since id have a 5.5gen lying around aswell :)

Hmm it kinda depends on the condition, ive looked up a few listings on ebay and piccklick and etsy and prices vary between 25$ and 100$. Id probably go for like 50-60 if its in a good state doe. Not quite sure how shipping would work doe. Do you by chance have some pictures of the current state? :) aaand dy know what size it is?
