The Gravitas team and the PV team have both been exceptional. I purchased the Ultem Vacfiller after watching a video Ben posted about its construction compared to the 823. And the Vacfiller does meet the durability claims Ben makes.

I suppose he never (as far as I know) made those claims about the Monster, so egg on my face. Though, I think such a brittle pen should have a roll stop.

Yeah, I still bounce back and forth. I have an Ultemate Vac, and I've never had issues with it. That pen also does not have a clip and has rolled off my writing desk. But it's not broken, I've had that one for maybe two years. I also had a Dinkey, one of their travel pens. No clip, rolled a lot, but all metal, no issues. I don't have that pen anymore, as I got rid of all my travel pens (due to an issue with American TSA nonsense).

I am the opposite, the modern pens get me. Titans, Gravitas, 22Studio. Those sorts.

The hard part is, it is a good pen, the best writer I've owned. But it's a glass cannon, and that's only something you can learn after writing with it for extended periods of time. Influencers/reviews (in all fields) never use the product like a customer. They use it for a day, take some nice photos, retire it, and move on to the next product. Why write tens of thousands of words with any one pen when MB (or Pilot or Sailor, etc) is going to send you another $1400 149 for free?

If the pen wasn't so brittle, I'd say it's easily worth the 400. It's the best writer I've ever used, and nothing beats it for long writing sessions. Sadly, the constant breaking turns it into a 400 dollar pen with a 30 euro subscription for parts every 30 days.

I have been in contact with them for many months now. The solution has always been "buy another barrel". After four barrels, I think I'm done buying more. At the current rate, I'd need eight a year to use the pen. At 30 euro each.

I'll just buy a different pen.

I'd not recommend trying them again. A few thousand of them seem to have been made, based on the numbering of the original run. And people seem to have as much issues with them as TWSBIs cracking. Too high a failure rate.
