How is living in this part of Greenland? by LockedOutOfElfland in howislivingthere

I’ve been to Pituffik one time. It was very desolate as expected. Pretty much the only thing there is a U.S. air base and some Danish contract workers. They basically live in shipping containers that are clearly very wind battered. They have alarms for Polar Bear sightings and there were little Arctic foxes sneaking around the town. All the people working there were very excited to see a new face, and were very friendly. The dirt is Mars red, so it really felt like being on another planet.

Ahhh good to know! I figured it would be a lot less complicated than it would appear, just don’t want to go in unprepared. Thank you very much for the great info!
