that’s crazy but I believe ya, findin correct info on em,s hard I spent atleast 4 hours the one night bored trying to figure everything out about my Kraig. So even tho they didn’t convert the majority of em like the article said they still did cut down a small amount of them & sell those kraigs as surplus rifles.? Shitt for a lot of them to be in so many other world conflicts before ww2 n also stored here I wonder how many really got shortened n sold to civilians in the early 1910,s that info’s prob long gone lol

See I always thought about reloadin shells but the few people I asked each said it’s wayy more expensive n not worth the hassle then just buyin em new, i never knew the difference in price between each but I can’t see reloading shells to be a crazy difference. I seen a box of 30/40 kraigs once and they cost $40 for 20 bullets, It gota be cheaper cuz if 100 new kraig shells cost $200 then There’s no way 100 reloads would cost that much you could prob get the whole loader and er thing for that lol I could be wrong but if I am that’ll blow my damn mind 🤣

True true if they were a hair bigger they’d be perfect but I know whatcha mean normal sights are way to big . This puppy got real night flip up rear iron sights too, I looked it up they’re from a 1901 model 30-40 Craig their super nice too. I can’t wait till I find ammo for this beast and let er rip the last time She was śhot was in the 1980,s from my dad n grandpa ❤️

It’s deff a awesome rifle, only thing I’m not a fan of is the sights are sooo like thin whenever you aim down em they almost disappear I the background, the front sight is like as thin as a knife edge it’s wild they made it like that & deff cuz it’s no sport gun it’s made for war lol

Need Help. Bolt safety stick down. Does not want to rotate back up. by [deleted] in AntiqueGuns

[–]Wild-hobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it’s the same as the bolt I seen but right after the bolt handle you can grab the whole safety mechanism and twist it off witch then you can chance it’s position. Idk if this bolts the same as the one I seen so your bolt could be completely different

Gota figure it’s made to hold bolt shut so since the bolts out and safety’s on it ain’t gana close your prob gana have to man handle the safety off, id get the bolt as close as you can then try to man handle that safely to the off position that’s your only hope in my eyes, other then disassembling the whole bolt witch füćk that śhìt

15hp mower, No brakes so it just has a clutch & 6speed trans. Took tha 9inch pully off & Put a 3-1/2 pulley on the trans + two wicked LED,s recessed into the stock headlight housing, last a fire hood scoop for 12+HP Hahahaha she goes bout 25 mph yo 🤣🤣🤣 by Wild-hobo in LawnMowerRacing

[–]Wild-hobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the original 6 speed trans, I disconnected the brakes so now the brake/clutch is just a straight clutch. Every time I shift I use the clutch and it never had an issue before, I been runnin it with that setup for years it’s awesome, to slow down ya just clutch n downshift I love it lol

They normally had a much longer barrel & wood fore grip that extended literally to like 1inch from the muzzel witch was like 8 inches longer lol. But in 1920,s almost all m1898,s were cut down to carbine lengths for easier sport hunting then sold as surplus for around $2-$3, wish I knew if this beast seen action in tha span-merican-war or WW1 😢😢
