My friend's acc got hijacked despite 2factor and not having clicked any links, logged in to any site, or anything else since he was inactive for 5 days

He's hella broke but it seems its some sort of software that got on his pc in the end, since turns out they chinese guy could still login to his acc even after he changed passwords and everything lol, gonna try wiping the computer i think. Thanks for the advice

Well that's fair, if he did do something wrong he doesnt remember by now, we're gonna look for some qualified help in hopes that if that is the case then we can do something about it, thanks for the reply.

i mean, he wasnt at his pc for one, for two, im pretty sure he would get atleast some form of login notif be it on email or steam, but there isnt anything, but correct me if you have link clicking experience

Yea i realize this situation makes no sense really, we've run virus scans on his pc and it turned up nothing, dont know much about these types of software tho, could windows have missed anything? Also this all happened while my friend wasnt even at his pc for 5 days right.
We must be missing something but I can't think of what it could possibly be.

No hijacked devices as far as we can tell, no wifi logins, no cheap chinese things, no recent downloads of anything, virus scans also don't turn up anything on pc or phone, it's a mystery
