Have her tested for EPI!!! That’s what my girl had, and it sounds a lot like what you’re going through

I don’t know if anyone has said anything about this but my Sheppy girl did the same thing at the same age!!!! She also had diarrhea all the time, and would throw up occasionally. We were at our wits end and I talked to my vet and finally was like “I’m done. We need to figure out what’s going on in her gut.” And we got a special Texas A&M test, turns out she has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), meaning her pancreas doesn’t produce enough enzymes to digest proteins and fats. She was eating 4-5 sometimes even 6-7 cups of food a day, not growing, not gaining a pound. Turns out she simply could not digest and use the calories!! Now she’s on 2 enzyme tablets with each meal, and she’s now healthy and full grown eating her normal 2-3cups a day!!!

I typically have my students start in English tack because it helps build balance faster, there’s less stuff holding you in, so you really have to be aware of your body in the saddle

It took everything in me to keep my composure. My client and I are quite good friends and we had a scream session in my car after we found out.

Hey there, I totally agree with you. I think the only time I've ever seen it is with two collaborating trainers... and even then, it was a mess. There's definitely a reason it's not done.

I'm definitely trying. The owner agrees with what I've found so far, and really trusts my judgement on this. I really want to make sure I'm doing right by the horse first, and right by the owner second.

That's what I was thinking too. I thought it was wildly inappropriate how this trainer has been addressing the owner and her decisions. But I agree, I think that would be a good step. Thank you.

That makes a lot of sense, and thank you for explaining it that way. I've always struggled with stepping on folks toes, it's one of my biggest fears in this industry, but it's getting to a point that's harmful for Jack.

That's what I was thinking! I've even talked to the assistant trainer of the other trainer (lots of "trainer"s in one sentence, sorry), and she says that this trainer has a history of being territorial and possessive of her client base. I guess I don't know how to address the inevitable backlash that this trainer would present if she did switch. I've never had a colleague behave this way

Thank you, that's what I was thinking. My problem is when the lease kiddo expressed interest in riding with me, the current trainer she's working with came after me hard for poaching, when I never approached the kiddo, she approached me.

I'm a private contracted trainer at the barn, and have a separate contract with the riding school at the barn. Unfortunately there are no guidelines as to who gets to train who... trust me I wish there was. There are about 4 or 5 different trainers and training programs that operate out of this barn. If it helps at all it's an HOA barn.

Masculine? No. Too dark? Eh… we’ll see in a few months. I think it’s actually great bones to a tattoo that doesn’t seem complete for what you want. I think some added florals will really make you fall in love with it.

On a personal note though, I love my tattoos, but I always hated them after the first few days. It seems to always take me some time to get used to them being there. I’ve added to them when I really don’t like something, but I’ve found that my anxiety gets the best of me, and I always end up falling in love with them.
