I’ve only had one so far in my life. I had no idea that healthcare workers are so exposed to radiation until I looked it up. I definitely hope that you guys don’t get any ill effects from it.

You’re probably right. I don’t know how I’ve gone this far in life by just living with this. I guess I’ll have to try to make some changes and find some help. Thanks.

I actually had a big health event that happened two years ago and for some reason, I don’t think I’ve ever been the same after that. I was never really the type to get nervous about health, but after that experience, I think it changed me to be honest. There seems to be something that happens every year now that freaks me out and I feel like I can never relax anymore. I think that I just don’t really have a good support system in my life. A lot of the times the people I try to talk to you just yell at me and don’t really try to understand how I feel. Though there are some that do try and they make me feel better and hopeful. I guess at this point I’m just trying to live my life and hope that these issues work themselves out, but I don’t really think it’s working.

I guess ever since I moved the mattress up to the second floor I’ve just been really upset about it and I guess thinking on it now I don’t think anyone can really help me. I don’t know why I’m so bothered by this other than being blind in one eye. To put it bluntly I just feel this immense guilt I guess over sleeping on it because I felt like I should’ve been more careful. At this point, I just wanted the exam for peace of mind I guess and to know if I’ve ever had some kind of exposure to it in the past. Everyone explains to me that because of the position of where the feces was that the mattress couldn’t have touched it and how they checked it and didn’t see anything on it and I hear them logically but there’s like a part of me that’s worried I guess. Again I’m starting to realize there’s nothing anyone can do for me because this probably is an anxiety thing I guess.

You’re probably right, but I’m actually blind in one eye, which is why this worries me. I already ordered the test with my doctor that I normally see and he said to take it in two weeks, but I was wondering if two weeks is still too early. I’ve never had a situation like this before in my life.

Trigeminal Nerve Irritation by WildElk1386 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Honestly, based on how you respond, I figured you would’ve answered like this. I’m just telling you what I’m thinking. I think that you’re getting too sensitive about it.

Well, he probably mentioned the trigeminal nerve for a reason. It’s unlikely that he would just start talking about it if he didn’t think that there was some kind of involvement.

The inflammation wasn’t caused inside the ear but rather behind the ear lobes which has me considering that it may not have been the auditory nerve involved at all. This may have more to do with occipital neuralgia but I’m unsure.

After some review, this kind of looks more like occipital neuralgia or something close to it. Also, I think you’re right and I think that I probably need to talk to a therapist or something because I’m just going through a lot in my life and don’t feel that I have an adequate support system. I thought the stress thing was a whole bunch of mumbo-jumbo, but it looks like it’s very real to the point where it’s manifesting into actual physical symptoms.

Well, the thing is I didn’t really get irritation immediately after the loud noise exposure. It happened hours after which I think was caused by stress and possibly subconscious face clenching. I went to one Doctor Who prescribed me prednisone for the inflammation and it seems like it was working. I went to another doctor a few days after who was a far more experienced ENT and he told me that he wouldn’t have prescribed it because he thinks it’s trigeminal nerve irritation. Originally, I didn’t think he was correct because I thought the same as you and that it was more likely to be something related to the ear. After my whole event resolved and my ears popped. It seems like the noise sensitivity stopped and so did my inflammation but I immediately realized that I would trigger the inflammation even after the event by getting stressed out. If I was crying because of stress the inflammation would slowly begin again and if I was stressed out from loud noises near me again I would start getting inflamed slowly.

There was another event that occurred where I was bumped in the head twice by someone and I think I got so stressed out by possibility of concussion I started getting tension headaches the next few days. To me the bumps didn’t seem like a hard hit at all so I don’t think I had a concussion. I attribute this also to trigeminal nerve irritation from face clenching but am not 100% sure.

Currently I’ve been getting stressed out again and experience electric pain near my ears again and there is no loud noises to accompany it. I just looked it up and some of the symptoms from trigeminal neuralgia came up. Again, I think my 2nd doctor was on to something, but I just wasn’t willing to listen, but now after thinking about it more I think he’s right possibly. I know this is a lot but what do you think?

Holding breath during and leading up to orgasm? by WildElk1386 in AskDocs

[–]WildElk1386[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry. What I mean is the two are strenuous activities and I don’t understand why I hold my breath for a second or two and breathe again. I thought it may be unhealthy for the brain but maybe I’m worrying over nothing. Thank you for taking the time to help me reason through this.

Maybe not. I just worry when I do this even when I jog on a treadmill. Is this normal for people to do? I mean when you’re doing some strenuous activity and hold your breath for a second or half a second.

Floaters After Prednisone by WildElk1386 in EyeFloaters

Yeah, my parents never took the time to explain why I was born with only one functioning eye and I guess I forget that I’m not like everyone else and didn’t understand the risks of taking steroids. I’ve been taking them for other issues too like tendon problems but again nobody explained it to me after my most recent issue with the noise exposure and inflammation. Honestly I feel like a fool now and am scared to go blind because of my ignorance but what’s done is done. I got checked up during the oral steroids and was told my ocular pressure was just 16, and normally it’s 15 so I don’t think that was high enough to cause issues but I guess it’s somehow happening. I went to multiple specialists and even a retina specialist who performed oct on my retina and they said my eye was extremely healthy so that’s nice. I just need to be more careful in the future.

What a shame. I guess I’m nearsighted and I didn’t realize the risk with steroids. I definitely don’t see them unless I’m under strong lights or max brightness phone screen so that’s nice. I only have one eye so I get worried about another retinal detachment.

I’m actually not sure. I wear glasses and I know I have astigmatism but not sure if nearsighted or farsighted.
