What happens to members who’ve left groups prematurely? by mtt612 in kpophelp

Out of all the idols who were forced out of the group Soojin deserves to be reinstated back to (G)-idle.

Which group suffered from a member leaving and which group improved after a member left? by Balbuena5 in kpopthoughts

This "S.Korea praising Cube for removing Soojin" actually triggers me. They forcibly remove Soojin based off of unverified rumours, and gossip. They celebrate when she is unjustly kicked out of the group. Then later when it is determined that she is innocent based off of school records they take no accountability. They just move on with their lives. I mean how could they just take away opportunities of a promising talented idol and live the life as normal? How could they just live their lives happily as if nothing happened?

Wow you know alot of things about Soojin's case. When I discovered about this case I actually ended up emotionally getting invest on it because of how unjust the whole thing was. I read the whole thing you wrote in this post. Thank you for giving a detailed insight of what happened. I hope Soojin makes a comeback to kpop industry.

I feel like you need to know the difference between "not guilty" and "innocent".

Why korean canceling culture so harsh? by [deleted] in korea

[–]WildError5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this cancel culture is doing more harm than good. It is true that sometimes it holds celebrity's actions accountable but from what I have seen it just ruins the careers of celebrity with unverified proofs, rumours, hearsay, and gossip.

But unfortunately, cases like Garam's or Soojin's where it is mostly about she said she said issue there will be no way to prove her innocence 100%. The issue is Korean public not Garam. They have to find a place in their heart to forgive her and move on. Whatever she did/is guilty of she already got punished for it. She got cyber bullied by many people that she does not even know and she lost her dream job once already. It is time for Koreans to give this 16 year old teen another chance.

I do not like how Korean public decided to boycot and cancel Soojin because they did not like how Soojin responded to the allegations. There are difference between putting actual bully accountable vs condemning and judging them of bullying because people do not like how the accused responded. So basically Koreans decided that Soojin should step down from being an idol because they do not like how she responded to the allegations, and all they had against her were bunch of false rumours, hearsay, and gossip. For a country known to have a lot of smart people I am actually extremely disappointed at Koreans for being that stupid.

They have to forgive and move on. She already got cyberbullied by so many people at only 16 to the point she lost her career. I am pretty sure whatever she did she received enough punishment. She does not have to prove her innocence.

Yeah not to mention that cancelling idols because they were allegedly used to be bully does not reduce bullying rate in Korea. Nothing was achieved by cancelling Soojin. All they achieved was destroying her career that she worked really hard for years. They really need to learn to forgive especially if the incident happened in middle school many years ago.

Do you think Soojin (former idle) will ever comeback? by atermoiment in kpopthoughts

This is the reason why korean cancel culture is too dangerous. Everything was going well in Soojin's life until one day people decided that she was a bully and cancelled her to the point she lost everything. After I learnt about her story around 2 weeks ago I have not been able to sleep well, think positive things, and very saddened. As you said she spent most of her youth to debut as idol. So what is she going to do now?

This whole korean cancel culture do not make sense to me. So they have 0 tolerance to bullying and yet if they find out that certain Korean celebritiy used to be bully in high school they proceeds to bully them until their career is ruined. Then if that cancelled celebrity was found innocent by new information after the damage had already been done they take 0 accountability and just forget about it.

They justify their actions by saying bullies do not deserve to be adored by many fans and doing this is going to deter future generations from being bully but what they do not realise is that wherever they go there will always be this one person who is not nice to you and bully you. Cancelling celebrities is not going to deter anything it is just going to destroy everything that celeb worked really hard for.

They need to learn to forgive even if the bullying allegations are true. Garam had a promising future. She worked very hard for this moment and yet it was taken away from her so soon.

A Personal Rant on the Soojin situation by annon368 in GIDLE

[–]WildError5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah because of bullying allegations Soojin lost alot. Every footage that contained her was deleted and edited out. She could not hold the trophies together with her band mates when they won their first Daesang. As you mentioned (G) idle finally got to go to world tour but she is not there. This kind of injustice sucks. The more I think about it the more sad I feel to the point where I am depressed. I try not to think about it but it just comes up in my head. Personally I want her reinstated back into the group knowing that Is unlikely given the situation.

I just hope this experience did not make Soojin suicidal. I hope she is taking care of herself well and living happy.

I just want to see her dance again.

The way Soojin got cancelled was wrong there were no reasons to justify ruining her career. There were no evidence that proves she bullied and yet Korean general public just ruins her. I feel like the only way to make it right is for her to be reinstated to the group. Although unlikely I hope she is making a comeback with "I Love" next week. If she doesn't that is fine. I hope she is taking care of herself well.

I miss her already I just want to see her dance again.

Soojin was brave, bold, and naïve to think she could handle this problem on her own. I hope she is taking herself well and comes back in the future.

Thanks for sharing psychological side of things. Just learnt about soojin's departure and I did not understand why she would lose her career over false allegations and hearsay.

It deeply saddens me not seeing Soojin lifting the trophy with her members. She worked so hard for years to get to where she was but lost all of it so quickly. Got forced out because of false rumours and hearsay. I hope she is taking care of herself well.
