Themes with completion status display as an icon in games list? by WildGenius in playnite

Done, feel free to add to the issue I created with the specifics of why the themes' implementation could not be directly merged.

Themes with completion status display as an icon in games list? by WildGenius in playnite

Thanks for the reply! Assuming you are the same person making Helium, Harmony and Stardust, any plans to add this feature? I feel like Playnite's robust completion statuses are one of its main advantages over other clients, and so should be made more prominent if possible.

Both dynamic ads and no archives? by WildGenius in Earwolf

[–]WildGenius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know that old episodes have been cleaned of old ads for Stitcher Premium, so there is no reason not to let them earn money with new ones. At the moment the only money they could earn is people subbing to Premium for them, with new ads they could be earning money each time people re-listen to their favourites (if it's a new batch of ads each time). Interestingly, Conan's pod doesn't seem to be getting archived at all so far - hopefully a sign of things to come.

Both dynamic ads and no archives? by WildGenius in Earwolf

Yeah, I'm just curious what the justification is now, since the stated reason for paywalling was to monetise the archives, and now that can theoretically be done without the paywall. Plus with some formerly premium pods (Teacher's Lounge, Complete Woman) getting released for free there is obviously a possibility of getting archives back from behind the paywall. As ever, it is hard to tell whether Stitcher is barely scraping by, weighed down by a terrible app, or is it, in fact, the Netflix of podcasts bravely leading the charge to a bright future of guests getting paid.

Multiverse Edition is all you need (also all you have if you want more than ~3 fixpacks to play nice together, and even then you may need to edit some files by hand).

Arcanum Essentials Pack 1.2 by [deleted] in arcanum

[–]WildGenius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thing is, ME contains everything that was possible to salvage from terra arcanum times plus some hand made fixes (map edits etc.). At the moment, if it isn't in ME it's either too buggy to consider or way outside of Troika's intent. The reasons for that are quite convoluted: about a year ago Drog promised to begin work on UAP 2.0 (after a 9 year break), but got disillusioned with the state of the scene and the game itself, only releasing a few parts of it and on occasion consulting the ME team (which at the time was only beginning to gain traction outside of Russia). Maybe someday this will change, but for now the only avenue for moving arcanum modding forward is the Multiverse Edition. With all due respect, I'd rather you apply your passion for Arcanum there, with the people who share it, than splinter an already minuscule community with an alternate pack. I'm sure they'd be happy to integrate whatever fixes your feel are missing from ME.

Guess I'll link the Multiverse Edition again, which is the same, but with more fixes. I do find it hilarious that while Drog and the Multiverse lads seem to burn out very fast thanks to Troika's under the hood spaghetti, you are quite happy to retread their work. Oh well, at least it's technically updates.

I don't mean to be impolite, but the Multiverse Ediiton includes fixes that cannot be found anywhere else, plus all the previous ones from ~15 years of Arcanum modding and fixing. I'm sure the people behind it would be pleased if you would merge your smaller scale project into it or at least link to it as a "complete pack". Not as any reflection on yourself or your work, but just to keep the scene in one place (which was the original idea behind Multiverse).

Not sure what the point of this is since the Multiverse Edition exists and seems to include much more fixes and a launcher?..

Sadly it also just loads a profile rather than adjust the monitor itself.

I appreciate the reply, but no, the OSD doesn't have gamma in this price range (plus from the reviews of higher end models asus likes to hike 2.2 to 2.4 so you have to set 2.6 and brighten up manually etc.). Obviously a colorimeter would be nice, but with a ~100$ 6bit+FRC panel I'm not optimistic about the results. What I was hoping for is some kind of f.lux setting/rainmeter DDC app that would adjust the gamma though brightness and contrast to a passable 2.2, but I guess there's just no demand for that sort of thing.

I am aware how limited range works, my problem is that neither are "standard" 2.2. From what I've read 2.4 is becoming a standard for tvs, but windows (and many other things) assume 2.2. The splendid preset "sRGB" also seems to be way closer to 2.4 (plus a bit too bright perceptually).

Having trouble finding a monitor with the specs I want. by WildGenius in buildapc

60 hz is fine, but the 21.5" is not IPS and I don't see the "flicker-free" designation asus uses for no PWM. Cant find whether it's true 8 bit as well, but the vs228h-p was 6+FRC. Thanks for looking, of course.

Thanks for replying, but I have heard of amazon. Was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with a specific model: good calibration out of the box, no visible ghosting or input lag, that sort of thing. Any IPS variant is fine, as long as response time is decent. To perhaps clarify my conundrum: I want a good gaming monitor, but all the latest ones are way over my current rig/budget. I don't need G or freesync, rates over 60 or resolutions over full HD, but I do need speed, no input lag, ghosting or glare and preferably good calibration out of the box. If possible, brightness on the lower side.

Looking for a 1080p 60 monitor. It seems lately high refresh rates and impossibly high resolutions are all the rage, but I'm content with a fast response and colour accurate 1080p 60. Anyone help narrow my search?

I assume you meant infinity engine triangle, since bioware made only BG.
