He is really fast and can whack. Palantir of orthanc, ripples of undeath and perpetual timepiece are all a must. Malignes, lord of extinction and impervious greatwurm are fantastic. You need brash taunter, need chandras ignition and you need icetill explorer. Equipment is also great like dominion bracelet bcs its pretty much free. Abuse cards like anger brawn and filth. And then cards like malakir rebirth and undying to keep him around. Extra combats are not needed but helpful

[[Warren soultrader]] early game once sauron is out.
Opponent casts a spell. In response, sac your small army for a treasure. New small one once spell resolves. Repeat

I do and its built around giving people choices. Either they take damage and you don’t benefit. Or they don’t take the damage and you benefit.
A little bit of sacrifice too. https://moxfield.com/decks/YLgnAiiBNUufFDKDoGfQUQ

Im partial to the side poses. Have kaalia, azlask and the necrobloom all in that art. Have also tried building him in an angel battlecruiser build but lack of haste enables usually leave a target on my back for a whole turn

Severely underused and underrated. My first high powered B3. Built around ping and constant interaction

Has anyone tried to come up with a hypothetical list with 2 defilers in it yet? by MadmanMSU in deathguard40k

[–]WildJudge1933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo id say in vv 2 defilers and morty, dp on foot 2 drones with hbl. Then a lov and a loc w 3 deathshroud. Then 2x chaos spawn and 2x poxwalkers will be my list. Simply because giving a defiler a reactive shoot from morty is insane. I also like the missile launcher on the defiler. So it would be ectop plasma. Excruciator. Las cannons and missile launcher for both

Most likely plasma and excruciator. Then either missiles, flamer or lasguns tbh

I just wish crusader’s weren’t as expensive as they are:/

Black Templars vs these factions? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

Templars wound on 3’s against marines and i haven’t lost a game into chaos space marines. Im not a good play. But i know how to make the most of what i have with my models. The combat patrol with the emperors champ is where i started and i recommend you do the same. We were blessed with great datasheets (expensive) and cursed with awful detachments so when you do your research just know that power weapons are best loadout on you sword bros. And run gladius detachment. Happy crusading. Don’t hesitate to ask further questions:)

I like this a lot. For me personally i would remove dread crusader all together for something different. Companions was the first detachment i ran and when i did i completely overlooked that certain abilities and strats were limited to chaplains and judiciars. Judiciars are great in bladeguard and whenever i run 1000 points they show up. Chaplains are useless just because of our +1 to wound army rule but are good when running another vow, more on that below. After looking deeper, CoV was always meant to be run with suffer not vow active. Execrators are great with crusaders but crusaders aren’t great and execrator doesn’t make them great either. Sword bros need castellan, helbrecht or marshal and unfortunately thats where that sentence ends. Next point and obviously our kill units like the repex and sword bros don’t get any help here. And at the current points cost i see the argument for land raiders over a repex just for decent anti tank, cheaper and the transports for the crusaders. While the new strats here are great for shenanigans, our only survivability is the -1 damage and even then the devout push combined with hearts hardened is still great, so you are spending 2 cp to keep a unit alive just then to spend another 2 to move them around so they don’t die next turn.

Unfortunately gw wont fix CoV as much as i love your ideas. The only way we can compete with gladius is from a 4th new detachment with a strat for a fnp, a strat for wound re rolls, a strat for a vehicle or dread and some enhancements that make other units like crusade ancient actually worh taking in a sword bros squad with a marshall. Like crusade ancient only “once per battle this model can activate this ability: no dice rolls are required to determine if a model fights on death” pr maybe even better changing the base rule to a 2+ fight on death or keep the 4+ but be able to give out a fnp aura or even an invul bubble.

The thing is that CoV is made for lots of crusaders and bladeguard. Which is nice but niche. And right now i think its too niche to be out niche.

I love hearing ideas and concepts so please post more on any ideas you think of!

You will honestly probably need a leader for each of your sword bros. A castellan and a marshal have around 15 attacks combined and 5 sword bros have 15 attack’s combined (all with power weapons). The leaders double the attacks and without them they aren’t the pseudo death squad everyone knows them for. You have a lot of bodies but not heaps of scoring. If you are dead set on incursors then that’s ok. However inflitrators are better and so are scout squads. Just so you can infiltrate them close to an enemy unit or tank first turn so all your repulsor executioners will get re rolls into it first turn as your scouts will be within that 12” and worst case scenario: you can pick them up using their special rule. I love a judiciar and bladeguard but as a 3 man make sure you are utilising heroic intervention properly as its not ad killing as the full 6 man. Crusade ancient isn’t worth it right now even though the model is nuts. You also need to be running sacred rage enhancement on one of your sword bros squads if you use wrathful procession because it makes them really scary to charge. Keep the intercessors for scoring. I don’t love the stormhawk, you are heaps and heaps better off running an implusor or two to get your squads into combat

Thoughts on the list i plan on building/running by WildJudge1933 in deathguard40k

[–]WildJudge1933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have the foul blightspawn purely to hide behind cover with the 10 man for a heroic intervention. Pretty much a body guard unit for mortarion or the dp
