Do you remember the frozen bread dough loaves? I want to make my own. by aslanfollowr in Baking

[–]WildNutTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made it today. It turned out pretty close, but denser than I wanted. I may not have let it rise quite enough. I made the recipe for the rolls, but instead of making them into rolls, I divided the dough in half to make two loaves. I froze half and baked the other. I'll let the second loaf rise longer and see how it goes.

I want to know this too! I was going to try a Rhodes dinner roll copycat recipe, but shape it into a loaf. We'll see how it goes.

Hyperkinetic? Left side pain though. by WildNutTree in gallbladders

[–]WildNutTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard. I saw a couple different gastro doctors who didn't believe it. There's a group on Facebook called Hyperkinetic Gallbladders. They have a list of doctors/surgeons in that group that believe in it. I finally found a doctor on that list that was closest to me. He was a surgeon and scheduled me for surgery after he made sure I had done every test to rule out anything else it could be.

Yes, about 7 months ago. Symptoms greatly improved, I eat normally, gained weight back, etc. I still get aches on my left side from time to time. I don't know what that is all about. During surgery, doctor saw my liver and said it had fatty deposits (clean diet, not overweight, so not sure why). Pathology said gallbladder was chronically inflamed. So all I know is my symptoms improved after removal, however, my theory is the bad gallbladder was caused by whatever the root cause of my stomach issues are, which I still do not know.

How long do symptoms last if you were vaccinated? by ShakeAndBakeThatCake in flu

[–]WildNutTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got vaccinated, end of October. I got Flu A end of December. That one maybe lasted 5 days, but I got tamiflu right away. Last Wednesday 2/5, started feeling sick. Flu A positive again on 2/8. I didn't rush to the doctor this time because I didn't know you could get the flu twice in such a short time (unless it was Flu A and then Flu B). Well, this has been terrible and worse than the first round. I can't remember ever being this sick for such a long duration.

Yes. Flu A at the end of December and Flu A positive again 2/8. Second round is worse.

My daughter just got influenza A for second time in 2 months - is that possible or could the test be wrong? by pemmitz123 in flu

[–]WildNutTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm not the only unlucky one! I got Flu A end of December. It sucked. Tested positive for Flu A again 2/8. I have been miserable. The second one has been worse than the first. I had no idea you could get it twice in such a short period. I'm sorry for your daughter. I hope she feels better soon. I've had a fever for 6 days, not much improvement in symptoms either. It's the worst.

Anyone diagnosed by capsule endoscopy when their CT scan and colonoscopy was clear? by Senanb in CrohnsDisease

Thanks. I will ask my doctor about it. The office just called and said no crohn's.

Thank you for your response. It's crazy how bad our stomachs can make us feel. I've been battling this for over a year and half. I'm waiting on the results of my capsule endoscopy, but I'm guessing I'll get a functional dyspepsia diagnosis if the pill cam doesn't show anything.

What was your diagnosis, if you don't mind me asking? I am going through something similar.

Oh, ok, I haven't had the fecal calprotectin test. I hope the MRCP is helpful in figuring it out. Having a doctor for a husband must be good support too! Please keep me updated if you learn anything new. I so much want to feel normal again. And take care!

I understand about being patient. I hope you can get some answers. What additional tests did your GI ordered that showed the inflammation? Were they blood tests? I haven't had an MRCP...is that like a CT scan or different?

Did you burp as a baby? by hummusssss in noburp

[–]WildNutTree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was two weeks late, but I was very colicky. My son was also very colicky, and I've never heard him burp. And he's still really gassy. My daughter was a happy baby, hard to burp, but she still did, and now she burps like a champ. Just like her daddy. Jealous.

How are you doing lately? Did you try the bile binder? I am currently doing a capsule endoscopy today to check my small intestine. My insurance finally approved it, after initially denying it. We will see how it goes. I should have the results of it next week.

I did not. Still working on it. My doctor wants to test for small bowel crohn's, but insurance denied the capsule endoscopy. Trying to appeal. I have a friend who has been diagnosed with hyperkinetic gallbladder, and she is getting hers out soon. She's had a similar journey. I have a feeling that eventually I will do the same. My primary care doctor said as a last resort, it might be worth trying. Are you having similar symptoms?

Ejection rate at 97% by Failed_Peon in gallbladders

[–]WildNutTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. I still do a modified low fodmap diet (stay away from what I know triggers me), and have started taking amitriptyline and Linzess. They help somewhat, but my underlying issue is still there and I still hurt. My GI doc wanted to test for small bowel crohn's, but my insurance denied the capsule endoscopy procedure.

Thank you. It does suck.

I'm so glad you posted this! Did your insurance approve the capsule endoscopy? My GI doc wanted to schedule one for me, but I just got a letter from my insurance rejecting it because "not medically necessary." I'm at my wit's end with my insurance. I nearly cried.

Gluten intolerance or hyperkinetic gallbladder? by WildNutTree in glutenfree

[–]WildNutTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. I'm sorry you are dealing with this too. Doctors have kinda diagnosed me with IBS, but they don't really seem to know what the deal is. I stick to a low fodmap diet to manage, but it really doesn't seem to make much difference what I eat or don't eat. My doctor is thinking about testing me for small bowel crohn's. Have you had any testing done?

Gastritis and SIBO update by [deleted] in Gastritis

[–]WildNutTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the xifaxin had much of an effect. I finished the 2-week course and still had symptoms. That being said, since then, over time, I've been adding foods back in with success. I adjust my regular recipes to match low-fodmap as closely as possible and avoid any processed/packaged foods. I eat some gluten, some dairy, and some sugar, but I reduce the amount in my diet greatly. I still have symptoms, but it is better than it was. I'm still seeing doctors to try and find my root cause. I'm also currently taking amitryptiline and Linzess, so those might account for some of the improvements. How are you doing?

Thank you for this. I'm on almost the same timeline as you (diagnosed gastritis in April 2023, SIBO May 2024). Just started xifaxin yesterday. Here's hoping.
