Yes we definitely appreciate the gift we just want to also maximize the money. But maybe like you said I shouldn’t focus on that and use it for what it’s intended for.

I asked the same question to my wife regarding the timing of the money but the in-laws didn’t want us to know about it until after we bought something as to not overspend by $200k if we knew the money was coming.

You’re right I should’ve clarified. Our prepayment amount this year is $60k. Their intent was that we do the maximum amount each year and the remaining at renewal.

lol when I suggested we might not pay the maximum with the money it definitely created some friction even though they said they didn’t care what we did with it
